Inspiration Monday

Hey, friends!! Hope you're doing well. Welcome back to the weekly party. We've got just one little week of summer left before school starts here in Texas. We're going to make the most of it and go out with a bang! Hope you enjoy the end of summer, as well. (Secretly, I'm so over the 100+ degree temps and ready for the fall...let's get this show on the road, right?!?).
Inspiration Monday Party
School is officially in session at the Inspiration Monday Party! This week's features were chosen by Julie from Redhead Can Decorate. There were a ton of "Back to School Ideas & Tips" from last week's party, so Julie made a fun feature round up with them this week. Check them all out below.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 Free Printable

This Ecclesiastes 3:1 Free Printable is the perfect addition to any decor.
It's one of my absolute favorite verses...and comes to mind when we're about to change seasons.

I love this time of the year. Well...almost. It's still brutally hot here in Texas. But...in just a few short weeks, the heat will gently fade into the loveliness that is autumn. And in our part of the world...that is some serious sweet relief. But, as I get to the point where I start hating summer, there are also attributes of it I love (the schedule, obvi). And every season has its own set of awesomeness. To everything, there is a season.

Vintage BINGO Card Banner

I'm sharing this fun and simple vintage BINGO card banner for this month's installment of the Thrifty Style Team. So happy to finally do something fun with this thrifty collection that I've had for a while.
This Vintage BINGO Card Banner is a fun way to add a touch of retro to any space. See how easy it was to put together.
Yay for another installment of the Thrifty Style Team...I get so inspired every month when we do this. This time, I created a banner with some vintage BINGO cards that I've had for well over a year from a junkin' trip in spring of 2015. I had gone with a friend to a vintage market and stumbled onto these under a random tent in a field. The lady was practically throwing these BINGO cards at me to try to get rid of them. I happily took them off her hands. I used some scrap fabric and twine and now have a fun little decoration for my office. Check out this quick project as well as my friends' projects below.

DIY Weathered Chalk Paint Sign

This DIY Weathered Chalk Paint Sign was an easy afternoon project.
Check out the entire tutorial below.

This DIY Weathered Chalk Paint Sign is an easy afternoon project. Check out the entire tutorial from ishouldbemoppingthefloor.com.
We've been working really hard to get our little mudroom (or, mud "hallway") in order before school starts. I wanted to add a little motivational sign for the kids to see before they grab their backpacks and head out the door. I'm super happy with how this came together...the sentiment means a lot to our family, too.

Inspiration Monday

Welcome back to the Inspiration Monday Party, y'all! Hope you've had a wonderful weekend and are ready to dive into the party fun! I know I may get in trouble for this...but I'm starting to yearn for all the pumpkin stuff, y'all! Ready for cooler temps and warmer clothes...and all the fun fall inspiration!!

Tween Boy's Bedroom

This fun and eclectic tween boy's bedroom is done!
It was not without its challenges, but its resident (and his mom) are pretty happy with how it all came together.

Tween Boy's Eclectic Bedroom
When we ventured out into the "no more characters or cutesy" phase of decorating with my youngest, my heart kind of sank a bit. That last little bit of baby is long gone. My nine-year-old is now one super independent and very opinionated young man. He was weighing in on every decision in this space with lots and lots of reasoning. It's so fun watching him grow, but wow...glad we won't have to redecorate for a while with this one! ;) Check out the entire space below. And be sure to enter our $250 MINTED giveaway, too!

Kids' Room Gallery Wall

My younger son's room is starting to come together.
Finishing this kids' room gallery wall gave the space lots of visual awesomeness!
I've also got a $250 Minted giveaway below!

I love a good gallery wall...but doing one to a nine-year-old's specifications can be a challenge. I'm happy to say that we crossed off all of his wants and put together a fun little wall o' memories and cool-dude artwork. Check it out below, along with a BIG giveaway from MINTED!

Painted Waterfall Dresser

This newly painted waterfall dresser has a fun layered wax technique on top of its bright yellow chalk paint. It makes it kind of aged...but not overly aged as most of my chalk paint projects seem to be (I just love old stuff, what can I say?). Check out the entire tutorial below.

Tips and Tricks for Summer Painting Projects

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and The Coca-Cola Company.
All opinions are mine alone. #SummerHydration #CollectiveBias

These tips and tricks for summer painting projects are perfect for your next big masterpiece...or just a small piece of furniture that's been on your to-do list for a bit. Summer is my favorite time to knock a boatload of painting projects off of my own to-do list...but with the heat, there's a few tricks I use to stay on track and still create a great piece.

Tips and Tricks for Summer Painting Projects
I love refinishing furniture pieces. Shortly after I graduated from college, I had a small side business refinishing pieces here and there. I learned a lot in that time...and in the 15 years since. Painting is definitely my outlet. I tend to paint a lot more in the summertime than any other part of the year. With my kids home, I can stay in my paint clothes all day long while they play and lounge. We tend to live a bit tidier in the school year, so painting and having multiple projects going at a time in the summer works out best for me. Check out my best tips and tricks for your own summer painting projects below.

15 Vintage Metal Storage Bins Under $30

This post for vintage metal storage bins contains affiliate links. I make a small portion when these links are used, at no additional cost to you.

I'm always looking for vintage storage ideas that fit seamlessly into our older home. I'm about to tackle my studio area. It now needs major organization after reorganizing the house for my dad. I've started finding the best vintage metal storage bins (on a budget) over on Amazon and I thought it would be fun to share them. Because attractive and functional can also be budget friendly, right?

Vintage Metal Storage Bins

When we moved my dad in with us, we had stuff coming out of our ears, y'all. We got rid of a ton, he got rid of a ton, but combining what was left was still quite overwhelming. And my office/studio space had become a dumping ground for "stuff we don't know what to do with". I ordered several of the below items on Amazon to help me out. Everything keeps with my vintage vibe, while still serving a great purpose. Check out all of these vintage metal storage bins and baskets for under $30 (all on Amazon).

Half Bath Makeover

This Half Bath Makeover has been done for a while. This is actually one of the first rooms that I completed in the new house. But, it's taken me a while to take photos...because it's such a tight space with no natural light! But I truly am happy with the fun, eclectic vibe it now has.

I'd love to say I put a bunch of thought and planning into this bathroom, but truthfully...it was kind of a conglomeration of a lot of things we had already. The walls are the same color of paint from my lower kitchen cabinets. The art was from our old home. The towel and rug are from a discount store and I hastily ordered the hardware and all of that online. We realized this room would be weirdly prominent...not that it's the first place people see. But, it is a place that is our guests' space. And, well...almost everyone who comes in makes a trip in here. We wanted it to be as comfortable for guests as possible.

Inspiration Monday

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend. We're enjoying a little time away at the beach...just what we needed! The summer is already passing so quickly...before we know it, school will be around the corner (I need to bite my tongue, right?). Hope your summer is treating you really well, so far!

Oh, and just a few more days to enter to win a new Black+Decker drill.

This week's features are fabulous for those times when you need an easy summer meal...but don't want to heat up your house by turning on the stove! This collection of Summer Salad and Slaw Recipes were selected by Kristi from I Should Be Mopping the Floor.

Free Printable Summer Reading Bucket List

This Free Printable Summer Reading Bucket List is perfect for the lazy, hazy days. We've instilled an hour of reading time every day in our home this season and my people are flying through the books. This is the perfect way to jot down all of our literary (and comic book) goals for the next couple of months. And, this baby is about to join us on our epic road trip!

Free Printable Summer Reading Bucket List
Summer is truly the only time I read. I would love to read all year...but I'm one of those that has to devour a book in a sitting. I will literally stay up all night and fly through a book during the summer. I just can't put them down. If I do it the rest of the year...I'm completely off my schedule and am a mess for a week to recuperate (from a book...HA!). But, in summertime, our alarms aren't set, our schedule is looser, and things are just easier...and mom can read!
Next week, we're actually going on a pretty big road trip through five states. And get this...our kids have never done one this long. I'm preparing a few different ways. I'd love for all of us to get some good reading in. One thing I'm doing is loading my iPad with audiobooks from Audible (I'm using my free 30 day trial) that we can listen to in the car. Check out all the fun below.

DIY Vintage Iced Coffee Sign

This DIY Vintage Iced Coffee Sign is perfect for our back porch.
It was simple to create and goes well with our little chairs and table.

DIY Vintage Iced Coffee Sign : the perfect summertime sign! Full tutorial on paint technique and sign assembly. Easy to make.
I'm sure it's pretty obvious if you've been to this blog before, but I love to make vintage-y signs. I don't use them all at the same time...they're kind of in a rotation of sorts. But, this one is perfection for summer-summer-summertime. And it's fabulous since we do serve iced coffee around these parts, y'all. Check out the tutorial below.

Hey friends!! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend. We're having a HOT, HOT, HOT one here in Texas. But, it's been a good one...we just sold our old house, so I feel like summer can officially begin now!

Let's get this party started.

10 Black and White Hymn Printables

EDITED: These printables are about to be discontinued for good. They are available at HALF OFF! These are all going away for good on Sunday...USE CODE discontinued AT CHECKOUT TO SAVE 50% ON THEM!

Doing something completely new today, y'all. First, posting on a Saturday (wha?!?). Second, I've created my first set of printables for purchase. These are a complete set of 10 Black and White Hymn Printables. They would be gorgeous as a gallery wall or on their own.

10 Black and White Hymn Printables | Classic hymns perfect for framing in a gallery wall or alone.
Opening an online printable shop is something I've toyed with before...but never took the plunge. But, there are times when I create large sets of printables that I spend a bit more time on...so I thought I'd dive into this head first. These 10 printables are some of the most beloved and classic hymns around...so many of them mean so much to me.
Grab all 10 of these below.

Free Tune My Heart Printables

These Free Scripture Printables (from the Come Thy Fount hymn) were inspired by Tuesday's post. I thought it would be fun to create this art in a way that more people could enjoy...although, I'm not opposed to inviting you all over to stare at my Sharpie art using this hymn. ;)
This is available in both an 8x10 and an 11x14 print (which is why I keep referring to them in the plural sense...lol).

Free Scripture Printables | Tune My Heart... | Available in both 8x10 and 11x14 for instant download
I explained on Tuesday why I love this particular hymn's words in the art piece I made for over the piano. I know not everyone has the time or want-to to create a full art piece (just us crazies, right?), so I thought I'd make it into two printables...one 8x10 and one 11x14 for today's freebies.

DIY Vintage Canvas Tutorial

This DIY Vintage Canvas Tutorial was made using Sharpie oil based paint markers...making the multi-colored design a breeze. I've got the complete tutorial, including the aging process, below.

DIY Vintage Canvas Tutorial | Use a thrift store canvas and Sharpie markers to create a vintage art piece.
I've been needing something for the wall above the piano. I knew I wanted to have a hymn of some kind on display, but wasn't sure how to go about it. Then I stumbled onto a great canvas at the thrift store and this piece started to come together.
