Kids' Room Gallery Wall

My younger son's room is starting to come together.

Finishing this kids' room gallery wall gave the space lots of visual awesomeness!

I love a good gallery wall...but doing one to a nine-year-old's specifications can be a challenge. I'm happy to say that we crossed off all of his wants and put together a fun little wall o' memories and cool-dude artwork. Check it out below, along with a BIG giveaway from MINTED!

This little corner of the room has really come together. The issues I wanted to address here were the weird "stuff" that wall came with: 1) Paneling and 2) Not one but TWO outlet boxes in the middle of the wall. Middle of the wall, y'all. I would have drywalled over them, but that brings us back to point #1...paneling. Having a gallery wall meant that those two items in point #2 could at least not stick out like the sore thumbs they had become. On a lighter note, a middle-of-the-wall outlet is great for plugging in an iPod in bed at night when *someone* wants to fall asleep to his jam.

Since we just moved in here in March, we were blank slating this one.

I thought it would be fun to buy unfinished frames for the art and favorite photos he chose for this space. That way I could match them to the other painted pieces in the room.

My son selected the above prints for his gallery wall, along with some fun photos of his own.

I think the vintage VW bus pic is my favorite.

Sadly, my guys are both a bit past the cute artwork stage...but I LOVE all of the children's pieces over on the MINTED site.
