DIY Blanket Scarf Stocking

This DIY Blanket Scarf Stocking and its shop have been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc., and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #StockedWithLove #CollectiveBias

Just a few more days until those stockings get hung (by that chimney with care, y'all!). This DIY Blanket Scarf Stocking is a simple one to sew up in time for Santa's big visit.

DIY Blanket Scarf Stocking made from an actual blanket scarf (get up to 6 stockings from a single scarf!). Easy-to-follow photo tutorial.
For someone in a fairly warm climate, I have quite the collection of blanket scarves. Whenever I travel to a cold climate, it occurs to me why folks actually wear scarves, and I inevitably have to purchase one on the fly to avoid freezing to death. And then, back in Texas, that poor scarf gets stuffed in a bin...destined to rarely be seen on our mild winter days. I made a couple of the scarves I had on hand into darling little stockings...it was such a fun way to use them! Check out my entire tutorial below.

Vintage Christmas Decor in the Kitchen

The Vintage Christmas Decor in the Kitchen was our big addition to the holiday pretties this year. I didn't have a tree in here last year, but this year, it kind of took on a life all its own. Every piece of Christmas decor in this room is either thrifted, handed down, or leftover from somewhere else in the house...and most of it has a fun, vintage vibe!

I've always wanted a Christmas tree in the kitchen. We had one in our previous home, but it was kind of an afterthought. I've wanted a purposeful one...with ornaments that all have a kitchen/food theme going. When I stumbled onto some glass blown cupcake ornaments at a thrift store in Waco, I knew right away that this tree would come to fruition this season...along with the rest of the space. Check it all out below.

Aqua and White Christmas Tree

This Aqua and White Christmas Tree is kind of our tree that almost wasn't. But, y'all...it's kind of my favorite lil' Christmas tree in all of its petite glory.

Budget-Friendly Aqua and White Christmas Tree with Loads of Vintage and Handmade Touches
We have a few Christmas trees around our home. I love having the two in the front windows; it was one of the things that drew me to this house. I was initially going to stop there. But, it has turned out that those two rooms aren't really the rooms we're in a lot (one is a formal dining and the other was a living room that we changed into my office...so, I'm really the only one in there). I went ahead and put a tree in our family room since that's kind of where we flop. But when people would come into this main living area, the first thing they'd say was, "So, will your main tree go in here?" And, I'd kind of hem and haw around and think..."I'm not fancy enough to have a main tree." Nonetheless, I dug this tree out of the garage, stuck it in a crock, and our aqua and white Christmas tree was born. Check it out below.

Travel Tea Bag Caddy

I made a travel tea bag caddy for all of my tea-loving family members for Christmas (but they're not limited to the holiday gift-giving). These make great presents...and I made one for myself, too. Because I just can't travel without my tea, y'all. See how to create your own below.
Travel Tea Bag Wallet
Do you travel with tea? I have to. I feel like it's bringing a small comfort of home with me. I've made a friend or two on an airplane when I share one of my bags of tea...flight attendants are always happy to bring a hot cup of water for steeping a bag. This little travel tea bag caddy keeps me well stocked with my bags of Bigelow (and a couple of my sweeteners...since I use a kind that isn't always readily available). See how to make one of these below (your tea-loving friends will adore these!).

Holiday Gallery Wall

I've always wanted a holiday gallery wall. I tend to go all out with Christmas decor, why not add to the fun with the artwork, too? I worked with my friends at Minted to put together the festive new wall art in the living area. Check it out below.

Holiday Gallery Wall Ideas
I have always displayed Christmas cards from friends as artwork throughout the season. I wanted to expand on that this year. While I love our flea market gallery wall that usually hangs in here, it didn't coordinate with the direction this room took this year with our bright and bold mantel. This new holiday gallery wall helped to pull the entire space together and added such a playful touch.

Fabric Gift Bags

These Fabric Gift Bags and their shop have been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser, Mars Wrigley Confectionery US, LLC. All opinions are mine alone. #SweetnessToShare #CollectiveBias

It's fabric gift bag week here on the blog (or so it seems, right?). Today's tutorial is for these fun bottle-sized bags that have ribbons to tie them closed. They're so versatile and lined, too. Check out the tutorial below.

Lined Fabric Gift Bags are perfect for gifting this season...and resemble a fun Santa sack!
I struggle with mom guilt, y'all. I am kind of an extreme introvert and, well, a bit of a workaholic, too. Because of this, I'm not a room mom, or a team mom, or a school volunteer. Don't get me wrong, I'm at all of my kids' activities, etc., but I hung up the PTA hat a few years ago. I tend to compensate by buying my kids' teachers and the other volunteers of their school and organizations fun gifts year round (and especially this time of the year). It somewhat serves as a way to ease my guilt...plus, let's face it, who doesn't love a nice treat? It's a nice way to say thank you. I put together gifts for everyone with my load of mom guilt hanging over my head. These fun fabric gift bags are filled with the cutest MARS® Celebrations® candy-filled bottles...they're for my youngest's dance teachers. He's been in hip hop classes for three years, but I may or may not be the mom who sits in her car in the parking lot during rehearsals. To actually say thanks face-to-face, I feel like I better not come in empty-handed, right? These candy-filled bottles are perfection for this. See how I made their fabric gift bags below.

Snowman Honey Jars

Snowman Honey Jars are a fun and easy holiday craft for all ages. Makes a cute teacher or neighbor gift.
I like to give little gifts to our neighbors every holiday season. Since moving here a year and a half ago, we have realized the folks on our street are truly the best. Everyone is kind and thoughtful...and brings our trash cans up to our house when we forget (doh!). These sweet lil' Snowman Honey Jars are perfect as holiday gifts for neighbors (or teachers, co-workers, friends, etc.). Long after the Christmas season is over, the delicious Don Victor® Honey will be there for their treats and teas. See how to make these below.

'Tis the season for fun gifts between friends, y'all. I made a bunch of these miniature fabric gift bags to give a few of my friends holiday-themed bottles of Poo~Pourri. I have several friends who already LOVE this stuff as much as I do...and I plan to introduce a few more friends to it this seasonPoo~Pourri liberates you from toxic thoughts and ingredients, and inspires you to confidently own your throne...it's all natural and makes the perfect gift to tuck inside these bags. Check out the easy-sew pattern for these miniature fabric gift bags below.

Free Printable Lollipop Ornaments
In our family room (you can tour the entire room here), we like a good, old-fashioned, multi-colored-light tree with our sentimental family ornaments all over it. This room is a bit out of the way, tucked behind the kitchen and away from all of the hullaballoo. It's kind of the "flop" room...with throw pillows usually all over the floor and blankets strewn about. But, it's also the room with a television where we can spend time watching movies together and feel a bit more comfy and cozy. I added my free printable lollipop Christmas ornaments to the tree in this space this year, to bring it some uniformity. Check out how it all came together below.
