April Desktop Wallpaper for All Devices

These free April Desktop Wallpaper designs (for all of your devices) are here to give all of your tech pieces a bit of inspiration and loveliness for the month (or really, as long as you'd like). You can use these freebies on all of you computers, phones, and tablets...and any other digital items you can dream up. Grab your April Desktop Wallpaper downloads below.
April Desktop Wallpaper
This month's designs will hopefully give you a small bit of peace and prettiness amidst all that is going on right now. These spring cherry blossoms will make your devices just full of the best parts of this season. Grab your April versions of our digital wallpaper below.

April Desktop Wallpaper

I was recently talking to my brother on the phone about this season's cherry blossoms peaking a bit early. We both noted how it would have been neat to get out and enjoy them. But with all of the stuff happening, it looks like we won't get to do a lot of that this year. That conversation was the inspiration behind this month's April Desktop Wallpaper designs. I thought looking at pretty cherry blossoms on my computer and phone screens for a bit would be a lovely change of pace. The quote I included this month is very intentional, as well (I think we can all use a good dose of hope right about now).
April Desktop Calendar
The calendar design (as usual) is only available for desktops and tablets (due to size limitations). I anchored this month's cherry blossom designs with a light blue horizontal watercolor striation...hoping it looks like a pretty blue sky. I think the colors are just perfectly spring on this one.

Lady Bird Johnson Quote
And this quote from Lady Bird Johnson just hits the spot, doesn't it? "Where flowers bloom, so does hope." On my daily walks, I'm seeing more and more flowers. It's quite comforting and a small spot of joy.

Cherry Blossom Wallpaper
The blank version is always the reader favorite (it's usually the one I use, myself). Sometimes my screen is so filled with icons and files that having a quote or calendar can make the screen a bit overcrowded. Using a blank wallpaper is the perfect solution.

(UPDATED INSTRUCTIONS) Downloading onto an iPad or iPhone

After I began this free digital series last year, quite a few of my readers inquired about download help using their iPad or iPhone. I always like to share my own method for this (the way I do this is sort of cheating, but the fact that it's crazy-easy makes that just fine). My 12-year-old calls this a very "unofficial" way to do this...he is actually my resident IT around these parts (I wish I were joking, but he's definitely more tech-savvy than his mom).

And, after a recent IOS update for most Apple devices, I'm also including an updated way to add wallpaper to your device (I included a screenshot below). It's actually even easier than I used to tell you to do it, but I've still included the previous method, if you're more comfortable with that manner.
  • Before starting this process on my phone or tablet, I download my particular device's wallpaper design onto my actual computer (all of your download links are available below).
  • I then email myself that file (I have gmail and it allows me to email to the same address I'm sending from). If you'd like to skip the whole emailing yourself, you'll need to download the Dropbox app onto your device (I provide all of the download links for these wallpaper designs within Dropbox for this reason). I like to send readers to a great tutorial on this Dropbox downloading method here on the iDownload Blog. But, again, if you'd like to avoid that, just email yourself the image from your computer and open the email on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Open your email that you sent yourself (with the pretty wallpaper attachment) on your device's mail app. At the bottom of your email, you should see the words "Tap to Download". Do that.

How to Use Wallpaper for iPhones or iPads

  • Tap on the image you downloaded within your email (it should appear at the bottom of the email). The above image (on the left in the above graphic of iPhone screenshots) is what you should see. Tap that small blue square box outline with the upward arrow in the bottom left corner of your screen (labeled as 1, above).
  • After you've pressed the box icon, the screen pictured in the middle should appear. Tap 'Save Image' (labeled as 2 in the above graphic). Your design should now be saved to your device.
  • The image on the right in the above depiction is the newer version of how to do this. You'll access your images where they are saved in your device.
  • On my own phone, my images automatically save to my Camera Roll (I *think* this is the default spot on most iOS devices like iPhones and iPads). I select Camera Roll and then I locate the wallpaper that I just downloaded. If your device saves elsewhere, you'll need to search that place for the download, instead.
  • Select your new image. Swipe your finger upwards on the device to access the menu I share in above figure 3. As you can see, about halfway down is an option to "Use as Wallpaper". Select that then your device should prompt you to set the wallpaper as your home screen, lock screen or both. That's it!
  • If you prefer my previous method for doing this, or don't have the latest IOS update, you can still use these wallpapers. Instead of the above method, go to the HOME screen on your iPhone or iPad. Then, head to Settings>Wallpaper>Choose a New Wallpaper.
  • Again, you can access your device's images in the same manner I described above.
  • That *should* hopefully do the trick for you. Let me know if you have any questions regarding either of the above described methods.

Below, I've kept the April 2019 quote and blank versions of the wallpaper design easily accessible for you, if you'd like to download it (again, it's available for all of your devices). It's one of my all-time favorites (I'm a big fan of stripes!). The quote is "Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food, and medicine for the soul." -Luther Burbank
