So, this fun piece showed up at my house via one of my brothers about a year and a half ago. My house is where many family furniture pieces come to their final resting place...and then I do my best to resurrect them. And then keep them for myself...forever (twirls fictitious evil mustache).

If you were around these parts a few of weeks ago, you've probably figured out I'm on a bit of a Hello Dolly kick. I shared my mom's original Hello Dolly recipe with you here. And today, I've mixed it up and swapped out the original chocolate and butterscotch with white chocolate and dried cherries. INSANE! They're so gooooood, you guys. The tartness of the cherries pairs so nicely with the smooth white chocolate flavor. Bar perfection.

And...cherries ALWAYS make me think of springtime. I'm going to will it here if it's the last thing I do!

They definitely have the taste of each: pimento cheese and deviled eggs. And isn't my new egg tray so fun? It's from Wilton Armetale and I just LOVED using it for this recipe.

How to Plant a Birdcage

Hi everyone, it's Rita from Pink Polka Dot Creations!

Today I am here with a really fun project for spring. I am going to show you how to plant a birdcage!  I love to plant pots and planters and I look for fun unique planters all year long.  This birdcage is just from Michael's so it was an easy find, but you can use old buckets, watering cans, old coal buckets, or just about anything that will hold dirt!  You just have be sure there are holes in the bottom for the drainage.  So rusted out buckets are great! :)

All of the plants that I used in this planter are perennials, so they are really okay for me to put this outside, here in Utah!  If you are using annuals, you will want to keep your planter indoors until the weather is warm all of the time, unless of course, you already live where it is warm!

Hey y'all.  So pleased to be back with you once again to share a quick and easy home decor project. I've probably confessed hundreds of times by now, but I'm just smitten by all things coastal decor and covered in oyster shells!  The decor in my home is proof positive of this current love affair.  From my dining room, coastal bookcase and butler's pantry to a large oyster shell topiary, it's pretty obvi.  And, as I mentioned when I made my last trek to Scott's Antique Market, I found more than plenty of inspiration to support some new crafty innovations. One of my current projects at the new homestead is to create a landing area by the garage door so that we can place keys, bags and what nots in one central place when we enter our home.  And while that space is {{ever so close I can taste it}} almost complete; I did have time to knock out one of my coastal inspired designs with some supplies I had on hand.

That whole emetophobia thing I have going on kind of {rather, completely} contributes to how I clean my home. The less germs, the less puke. Bada bing, bada boom.

I'm starting this series on Deep Cleaning by Zone to help us all out with our spring cleaning. I purposely didn't call it spring cleaning...sometimes you just deep clean when you can. A lot of times in Texas, we fall clean. Because that's the time of year we can finally open the windows and get the good breezes going while the cleaning starts!

But, after the harsher-than-usual winter we've had, I'm ready to throw open the doors and windows and get a good ol' fashioned spring cleaning on.

My Vintage Eclectic Style

I love mixing and matching with design. As we get closer to finishing our kitchen update, I realize it's come into a style all its own: vintage eclectic. I've found some great pieces from Sauder furniture that I'd love to mix into the fun as well!

While the rest of our house has both vintage and eclectic touches everywhere, I think our kitchen embodies a good mix of both. We've been in a long re-styling process in here. I've kind of taken a hiatus of working on it for awhile and just have a few loose ends to tie up before I'm completely done.

This recipe comes with a lil' story. A couple of weeks ago, I was walking my kids home from school. My friend, Bunnie, pulls up next to us to chat...and offer us the most amazing treat: White Chocolate Carrot Cake M&Ms. Lawsy, they were good. And I only tasted one...and even counted the points for it on my WW tracker!

But her words to me were this: "please make something with these things and then blog about it". And when your aptly named friend, Bunnie, requests an Easter treat on the blog...you oblige. And bring her the taste tester since you can't eat it {until your allotted cheat day when you stuff your face with them in the dark pantry, where no kid can find you}.
