These new free printable cleaning cards are designed to keep you on track when deep cleaning...no matter what room you're in. They're helpful for not forgetting a task (like cleaning a space top to bottom, then remembering you forgot the ceiling fan...been there!). Plus, they're easy to attach to a cleaning caddy so they're always handy. Download yours below.

Cleaning Cards
Since I only do a deeper clean once or twice a year, it's easy to forget a task or two in the process. While regular weekly cleaning is routine, things like flipping mattresses and changing air filters can easily be forgotten since they aren't done as often. So, these cleaning cards are my new buddies. I created them for a couple of other reasons, too, that I'll share below. There are blank cards available, as well, so you can create your own routine.

Cleaning Checklist Template
My mom was an avid spring cleaner. We're talking upended furniture (to vacuum undersides), a refrigerator pulled into the middle of the kitchen (to clean coils and floors), and every drawer emptied to be wiped out (and all of the contents thoroughly laundered/washed/wiped/purged). Even as a kid, it overwhelmed me. As an adult, I've had to simplify a bit to get (my version) of spring cleaning (or, really deep cleaning in general) completed in a timely manner. I'm sharing the simple list I use to complete this every year. And you can download your own cleaning checklist template to get going, too.

It's almost the time of year to start bringing out the heavier drapes and linens...my favorite! Today, I'm sharing some of the tricks I use to store away my out of season linens...so they're a breeze to pull out in the spring and put back into place.

How to Store Linens | Put away seasonal linens so they're ready to go when you need them again next year. Includes free printable labels.
I'm a little over-the-top about my drapes and tablecloths. I mean...we all have our quirks, right? While most of the drapes in our home stay in place year round, I try to change out the two sets in my front windows. These particular sets of drapes show from the exterior of our home and also do double duty in terms of efficiency for our heating and cooling systems. In the cooler months, I hang something heavier in these two spots...it helps keep out the cold. In Texas, that means we barely have to turn the heat on all season. I also like the look of a heavier fabric with my holiday decor, too. I'm sharing below how to store linens...so they're ready to go the next time you'll need them.

This homemade residue remover is an all-natural, two-ingredient solution to removing sticky residue from hard surfaces. Label gunk is no longer a problem. This stuff really works. Say goodbye to sticker residue and harsh chemicals.

Homemade Residue Remover
So here in our new house, we have the craziest thing on the front windows. While there are no window treatments of blinds on these windows, there is a ton of residue from what we assume was packing tape? It's kind of a mystery to us, still. See below how I removed the gunk (and funk) quickly and with only a two-ingredient homemade residue remover.

For the Record, I Do Mop... but I make it easy!

As you may know, last month these aMaZiNg floors from Metroflor were installed in our home. {To see our flooring in all of its glory, click here}.  I have to say, they've made my life a BREEZE! They're super durable, look outstanding, and are easy to keep clean.

I've had a few comments & emails with questions regarding cleaning this type of flooring. One comment focused on the color of the flooring we chose and regarding how dirt would "show more" on it. I will say, it hasn't been bad at all {and we haven't taken any extra precautions...we still wear shoes inside, etc.}. If I do see debris, I can quickly attend to it...which I enjoy much more than not seeing it in carpet and having to live with more debris than I cared to.

The guide below can be used to clean any type of hard flooring. It's what works best for me & my schedule.

We've seriously had the worst patio for a while now. We have water "issues" in our backyard. Even having a French Drain installed hasn't done much to alleviate them. There is always mud. And it is constantly tracked onto the porch by dogs and kids. We have finally found our favorite DIY patio cleaner that really does the trick. Check it out below.

DIY Shower Spray (for bathtubs, too!)

This DIY Shower Spray (for bathtubs, too) is truly a game changer. If you're battling soap scum, icky shower tiles, water spots, and rust rings, look no further. With two ingredients that you probably have on hand, you'll be ready to clean alllll the bathrooms.

DIY Shower Spray
I've just been convinced to come on over to the DIY side of cleaners. Usually, I don't want the hassle of creating my own thing, but seriously, this stuff is life- changing. Which probably makes my life seem a little dull. But when soap scum that's been scrubbed for years (probably from the previous owners, gag) melts away in a matter of moments, I'm sold.
