Free Psalm 23 Printable

This Psalm 23 Printable was actually written just before my father passed away. We had no way of knowing how close his time truly was. He went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2020.

As many of you know, we're currently walking in a valley as we prepare to tell my father goodbye in the coming weeks, or possibly days. This verse has been on my heart so much through this that I wanted to print it out for my bathroom countertop as a gentle reminder. I decided that I may not be the only one in a valley right now, so I am making this Psalm 23 Printable available to you, as well. It's a simple black and white one...but the words are what I wanted to stand out the most. Download this free Psalm 23 Printable below for your own space.

It's been a very short seven weeks since my father's initial pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Last week, we made the decision as a family (including my dad) to stop chemotherapy and begin hospice. Chemotherapy was much harder than we thought it would be...he was having a lot more bad days than good ones. Moving to hospice has actually been a wonderful decision and the days have become holy and sacred, along with quiet and peaceful. I've been dwelling on the 23rd Psalm a lot during this time. It's brought its own comfort, as well. This was truly just a simple design for me to utilize during this time, but I know I'm not the only one in a tough situation right now. You can download this Psalm 23 Printable below.

Psalm 23 Printable

"The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever."
-- Psalm 23

Truly, this is one of my favorite set of Bible verses. When I was young, I remember hearing a woman from my church recite the 23rd Psalm from memory at a gathering. Her voice was so earnest and sweet. Every word carried so much weight that most of us were tearing up at the end of the recitation. From that moment, it became one of my favorite pieces of scripture. And it's carrying me now more than ever as we walk through the last few days with my precious father. I have appreciated all of the love you have sent my way during this sacred time. Continued prayers are so very welcome.

  6. I'm praying for you, Kristi, and your family. Thank you for the 23rd Psalm printable. It's so comforting to think about being sheep with not much intelligence or worries, and the greatest loving Shepherd watching out for us completely -- keeping us from harm, providing for our needs, and allowing us to have peace and rest. What better hands could we be in?

  15. So sorry for your loss. Your words are timely for us too. Beautifully finished. I'm also loving how the passion translation leads this verse: "The Lord is my best friend and my shepherd." The Hebrew there means both! Thankful for the reminder we are not alone.

  24. I am so sorry to hear about your Dad's decline. That must be incredibly difficult for you and the family. Spend these tender moments with him and have what time you have left with him. I am going through a similar situation with my dear mother in law. My husband and I live in Tennessee and she is in Baltimore, MD. She 69 and the first Friday of March was diagnosed in the ER with stage 4 brain and lung cancer. We drove up here immediately to be with her. My poor husband does not have enough leave to stay longer than a week and he drove back home alone last Saturday. I stayed. She needs help getting to and from her many tests and dr appointments and eventually radiation on her brain and possibly radiation and chemo on her lungs. She is so scared and we are scared for her. But she won't go it alone, just as your father will not go it alone either. We've had to have the difficult conversations about her wishes, funeral arrangements, cremation, and settling of her property. That is never easy because you want them to live forever. I will keep you and you Dad and family in my thoughts and prayers. If there is anything you need, you let me know. Even if it is just a shoulder to cry on or to vent. -Karen
