This free printable lemon kitchen art was inspired by a new-to-me set of dishes I picked up at a thrift store. This is also a part of this month's Thrifty Style Team series. I've never done a printable for this series, so I thought some kitchen art would be the perfect addition to the fun. Grab this printable lemon kitchen art below.

Not only am I sharing this lemon kitchen art, I also am telling a bit more about these fun lil' dishes (serving pieces, I suppose) that I grabbed. And, my friends from the Thrifty Style Team are also sharing their own thrifty finds, too.

Salt Cellar

Printable Lemon Kitchen Art

This thrifty adventure started out in the small town of Palestine, Texas a couple of weeks ago. My son had gone to a summer camp not far from there. The pick up time was so early in the morning, that we drove in the day before and stayed in Palestine. We had a bit of time after we arrived and stumbled onto the most jam-cram-packed antique shop in the middle of the little downtown. It was a treasure-trove for dish lovers. I first found the above vintage salt cellar in all of its blue and white glory (it even has the little hole to mount it on the wall!).

Vintage Heritage by Royal Sealy Blue Onion
After I had taken the salt cellar to the register to hold (and the owner started wrapping it), I stumbled onto this vintage set of Royal Sealy Blue Onion Porcelain items. This isn't a fancy or collectible set, but it's one that is my kind of style and it was well-priced. I don't think things need to be sought-after or expensive to be interesting. I loved the designs on these pieces and the curvy shapes...so the set was a treasure in my book. The salt cellar was actually the cost of all of these items, combined...but, since she had already started wrapping it, I felt like I just had to get it. But, this set somehow ended up at the counter, too. Funny how that happens.

Vintage Coffee Set
The shape of that coffee pot...ooh la la!

Ceramic Napkin Holder
And I love a good ol' ceramic napkin holder and salt and pepper shakers. After having the entire set home for a bit, I realized how much I loved the colors. I've always been a yellow and blue fan...such a classic combination. While our whole kitchen is aqua and white, I asked my husband what he thought of me repainting the aqua lower cabinets in more of a navy/royal blue tone (and keeping the uppers in white). The look on his face made me think he was about to start consulting a lawyer and rustling up legal paperwork.

But, eventually, he thought...maybe. While I definitely don't feel like repainting cabinets any ding dang time soon, I do kind of like the idea of the navy/royal blue lowers sometime in the future. Wouldn't they look lovely with these fun, new pieces?

For now, I settled upon some simple coordinating lemon kitchen art, inspired by by new treasures. And I made these two designs in two sizes, in case you'd like to download them for your kitchen, too.

These printables come in both 5x7" and 8x10" (PDF_ sizes. The 5x7" sizes have yellow borders...I thought they'd be cute to display on vintage floral frogs.

While I don't have definite places for all of these pieces in my aqua kitchen, I do already have the cute salt cellar box in regular use next to the stove. Because...it's the cutest little salt container, ever

  1. I make people cringe when I confess I smash plates. I look for sets to turn into china mosaics, and I have a garage closet full. I really need to make something, it is rather relaxing, and I like hearing the crack of the hammer breaking the plates into pieces. Not your plates of course, but they would make a nice mosaic!

  10. Dear Kristi; let me start by saying how much your printables have meant to me. Thank you so very much. I do have a small issue however. When Dropbox is involved I can never get anything to print out. I always get a message that states an unknown error has occurred. Do you have any ideas on what I am doing wrong? I do have Dropbox. Thank you for any assistance you can give and again you have really brightened my days. Thank you so very much and God bless you and yours.
