Downton Abbey Christmas Thumbprint Cookies
I've mentioned my love for the royally smashing show, Downton Abbey a time or two on this blog. Can't. Get. Enough. Last week, I hosted a Downton Abbey party and these were one of the treats I served. Check out the recipe below and enter for a chance to win an awesome Downton Abbey prize pack below. It's brilliant {said in my best English accent}.

Downton Abbey Christmas Thumbprint Cookies
There was a bakery in the town I attended college called McKay's. It's the entire reason I got hooked on thumbprint cookies. They also had some killer cakes, too. But wow...those cookies. I started taking my mom's dough that she used for her Christmas Cherry Cookies and making thumbprint cookies with it...filling them with a variety of jams and jellies. I knew they would be AMAZING with World Market's Downton Abbey Christmas Preserves...and wow, they did not disappoint.

I made these for my #DoTheDownton party that I hosted in my home last week. They were the perfect little treat on our royal buffet. I'll be sharing all of the party photos tomorrow, so pop back by!

And sweet mercy...these Downton Abbey Christmas Preserves are amazing {and adorable!}. I may or may not have eaten a spoonful {or three} straight out of the jar. Their Lemon Curd is ridiculously delicious, too. You can register to win both of these items as well as a bunch of other amazing Downton Abbey goodies in a World Market giveaway below.

Downton Abbey Christmas Thumbprint Cookies
Ingredients:
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 sticks salted butter, softened
  • 1 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 1/3 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup Downton Abbey Christmas Preserves

Directions:
Beat cream cheese and butter with a mixer on medium-high for 2-4 minutes until fluffy. Scrape down the sides of your bowl and mix again for another minute. Add in the sugar and beat again for a couple more minutes...making sure it keeps its fluffy consistency. Reduce mixer to low and gradually add in flour. Mix just until the dough is combined.
Remove dough from bowl and wrap it in plastic wrap {I just wrap the entire ball}. Refrigerate for an hour.
Remove dough and unwrap from plastic wrap. Take rounded tablespoons of dough and form balls between the palms of your hands. Place each ball of dough two inches apart on a prepared cookie sheet.
Using your thumb, create a small indention in each ball of dough, but be careful not to press all the way through. Fill each well with a teaspoon of the Downton Abbey Christmas Preserves.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 12-14 minutes, just until beginning to brown on the edges. Cool on pan and remove to wire racks after 10 minutes.

Makes 4 dozen.

I'm not going to lie...the actual dough is kind of amazing for nibbling, too {no eggs!}.

Something about a dense cream cheese cookie filled with a lovely spiced jam.
These would be a perfect addition to your holiday baking.
