Our Downton Abbey Party

This post is brought to you by World Market.
But, my love for Downton Abbey is legit...love that show!

We had such a brilliant time at our Downton Abbey Party last week.
My friends were so fun and we all had a royally good time!
#DoTheDownton #DowntonAbbey

Not only am I crazy about Downton Abbey, so are some of my friends and family. And we all got together to celebrate our love for all things Grantham. And Crawley. And Bates. And, and, and...

Let's start by chatting about the food. I studied up on traditional English tea time eats and tried to replicate some authentic dishes. I also used lots of delicious World Market Downton Abbey products, including their Downton Abbey Christmas Preserves, Downton Abbey Lemon Curd, Downton Abbey Shortbread Cookies {in a collectible tin}, and Downton Abbey Scones.

Our menu from the day...oh, and Mrs. Patmore's Pistachio Pudding? It's actually my mom's Watergate Salad recipe...I'm sure you've had something similar to it. YUM!

We had a fun little tea station as well, with assorted Downton Abbey Teas from World Market. I used a large coffee maker to keep water super hot for the party. And we all drank out of fun little teacups, including these Downton Abbey Teacups here.

My friend Teresa's mom is from England.
Here's Teresa showing how to make a proper cup of English tea.
{Her fun shirt says "Keep Calm and Ring Carson to Bring Tea"!}

My friend Gina and I made some tea sandwiches, too:
chicken salad and traditional English cucumber.

I also set out some photos of the family on the buffet.

On this side of the buffet are the shortbread cookies, drinks, and the Downton Abbey Christmas Thumbprints I made with the Downton Abbey Christmas Preserve.

I posted these cookies yesterday here

We also played a couple of simple games based on the show. When guests arrived, they had a nametag placed on their back with a Downton Abbey character's name on it. Only they couldn't know who it was initially. Each guest had to ask others yes or no questions to determine their character. Since not all of my guests knew each other, it was a nice ice breaker.

We also played a simple Upstairs/Downstairs word game as we viewed the last episode from season four.

We had such a delightful time!

And it was great to see that last episode again...made me so ready for season five!

World Market provided my guests with some lovely take-home favors.

Here's Linda with her new "What is a Weekend" teacup.

And I just had to show you guys Patricia's presh Union Jack earrings. Smashing!

And I did make a photo, too! This is my friend, Rebecca, and I.

My friend, Shel, even designed her own hat...isn't it beautiful?

The entire event was such a nice time. A big thank you to World Market and my sweet friends and family for everything! If you have any holiday entertaining to do, be sure to swing by a World Market for all of the good stuff!
