Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love’s sake. Amen.

This small prayer is towards the close of the larger Compline Prayer (and often used in Evening Prayer), too. These prayers are a part of The Daily Office in both the Anglican and Episcopalian traditions. When I get to this part of praying through Compline, I practically weep. The words in this particular prayer are so powerful, probably because we all fall into one of these categories, or perhaps even more than one. I've wanted to make this into a printable for so long...but a recent gift spurred me to do so.

I actually created a print with this well-known quote "Home is the Nicest Word There is" a number of years ago. I've been revisiting this phrase a lot lately and wanted to create a newer, updated design. I hope you enjoy this version of this printable.

Our oldest is starting his senior year of high school in a week. It definitely went by in a flash. But, he's set his sights on a university that is on the other side of the country, primarily due to the specialty of his major. He's excited, but also keeps talking about how much he'll miss home...and of course, we're going to be missing him something terrible, too. Today's printable Psalm 91 design is perfect for all of us needing a bit of encouragement, comfort, and shelter from alllllll the things right now. This simple print was created in neutral tones with very delicate wording (visually, speaking). It's perfect with so many decor styles.

I honestly toyed with creating a printable using Psalm 91 in its entirety, but it was so much wording, visually. So, for a simple art piece that can act as a daily reminder of His faithfulness, I chose this part of the chapter to highlight. St. Francis Prayer Printable

This particular portion of the popular prayer of St. Francis is one of my favorite phrases to dwell on. Sometimes, when my thoughts are tangled and I don't have the words to pray, I'll say this over and over. I hope the words on this free St. Francis Prayer Printable are as much a blessing to you as they are to me. 

Growing up, I heard the prayer of St. Francis often. My mother had it framed by her bedside and it was a staple in our home. While I only included a small portion of the longer version, this particular line tugs at my heart strings. There is also a beautiful hymn that has these words and we sang it at both of my parents' funerals. I believe that my parents were both people who sought out to be instruments of peace for the Lord. I created this now, since many churches recently celebrated the feast of St. Francis. But, no matter if your church celebrates this or not, this particular prayer is such a lovely one.

Does your family use a You are Special Today plate? We love ours...it's a neat tradition that happens for birthdays (and a few other occasions) throughout the year. Our kids now pull it out for Mother's and Father's days, too. When you get to use the plate, it just feels, well...special! I thought it would be fun to create some coordinating prints to go alongside our plate. While these are WAY simpler than my usual designs, they mimic the feeling of the plate and are perfect to leave around for your recipient to find them on their special day.

If this printable looks familiar, it's probably because it is. After I posted The Lord's Prayer printable last week here, I knew I wanted a similar version of The Serenity Prayer, so they could be displayed together. I tried to create something that coordinate, but I felt like it kept falling flat. So, instead of reinventing the wheel on this one, I decided the best route was to use the same design. I think it still works well for them to be displayed together. I have several sizes of this one below (including the larger 11x14" size).

In my own life, when I don't have the words, I know I can always turn to The Lord's Prayer from both Matthew (chapter six) and Luke (chapter 11). We say it every Sunday in our church, too (as I did when growing up, so I certainly have it committed to memory at this point in my life). I've been known to pray it in the car, as well (although, this tends to make my kids nervous, though, like my driving may be questionable that day...ha!). We actually use this particular phrase a lot in our family...even more-so when our boys were little (pulling a loose tooth, first day of school jitters, learning to ride a bike...). The phrase was just perfect for some instant inspiration in a time of nervousness.  Also, it works for grown ups, too. I say it to myself in tough situations. I kept it super simple this time...just 8x10" sizes, but I do have two formats and then the two colors, as well. Hoping this adds a little inspiration wherever you might need it.

Every summer I get on a major reading kick. My schedule during these months seems to facilitate that a bit better. However, some good friends and I just formed a small book club and plan to continue our reading endeavors throughout the entire year, as well. For our next meeting, I wanted to bring each of my book club friends a little gift, nothing big or elaborate, but definitely bookish.
