St. Francis Prayer Printable

This post for a St. Francis Prayer Printable contains affiliate links. I make a small portion when these links are used, at no additional cost to you.

This particular portion of the popular prayer of St. Francis is one of my favorite phrases to dwell on. Sometimes, when my thoughts are tangled and I don't have the words to pray, I'll say this over and over. I hope the words on this free St. Francis Prayer Printable are as much a blessing to you as they are to me.

St. Francis Prayer Printable
Growing up, I heard the prayer of St. Francis often. My mother had it framed by her bedside and it was a staple in our home. While I only included a small portion of the longer version, this particular line tugs at my heart strings. There is also a beautiful hymn that has these words and we sang it at both of my parents' funerals. I believe that my parents were both people who sought out to be instruments of peace for the Lord. I created this now, since many churches recently celebrated the feast of St. Francis. But, no matter if your church celebrates this or not, this particular prayer is such a lovely one.

I created this design in the following sizes and formats, so it can be displayed just about anywhere:
  • 11x14" JPEG or PDF
  • 8x10" JPEG or PDF
  • 5x7" JPEG or PDF
  • The 5x7" PDF files have two designs per page.

In case you're not familiar with the entire prayer, I've included it below. If there is enough interest, I'm happy to create a print with it in its entirety, in a similar style to my recent Lord's Prayer Printables.

The Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where t here is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Printing and Using Your Printable

  • This design is for personal use (church and non-profit use is okay). If you do own a small shop or online business and would like to carry the physical (printed) design (no redistribution of digital copies is allowed), you may purchase a commercial license here
  • The oversized, 11x14" designs, can be uploaded to your local print shop (or even Walgreens) for printing.
  • JPEGs are also great to upload to a professional printing place, too. They print just like an image.
  • The PDF files are designed for easy, at-home printing.
  • When printing at home, be sure to print onto white, letter-sized cardstock for the best results. You can grab a pack of white, letter-sized cardstock here on Amazon.
  • The 5x7" PDF designs have two images per page, to reduce paper waste. I included outlines around each design to make cutting easier.
  • Printing questions? You can see my video tutorial below on printing, or check out my post on How to Print a Printable.

The Lord's Prayer Printable
Again, if there is enough interest, I'm happy to put together a print with the entire prayer, in a similar style to the above pictured Lord's Prayer and Serenity Prayer printables. Just let me know in the comments. And you can find these two printables here:
