White and Blue Fall Decor in the Kitchen

This post for blue fall decor contains affiliate links. I make a small portion when these links are used, at no additional cost to you.

Since my kitchen is already a haven for white and blue (and well, yellow), I tried to incorporate those same colors into my fall decor this season. Check out all of my white and blue fall decor in the kitchen below, plus grab the free pumpkin printable that I used in my vignette.

Blue Fall Decor
I've kept the fall decor to a bit of a minimum in the kitchen this year. We did a renovation almost a year ago in this space and got rid of the coffee bar (which is where most of my seasonal decor used to go). I still have a coffee bar set up, but it's not quite as conducive to the decor I used to do. So, now, I have switched things to the other side of the kitchen, where I use this little shelf above the stove for seasonal decor. This year, I'm sticking with my white and blue fall decor in this spot, so it flows with the rest of the space.

Thrifty Style Team

Before I get too into the details of the space, I want to make sure you know it's also our monthly Thrifty Style Team day. All of the participating bloggers are sharing some incredible fall ideas...all on a thrifty budget! I've linked to them all at the bottom of this post.

White and Blue Fall Decor

White and Blue Fall Decor

I honestly haven't shared a ton on our kitchen remodel over here, but I did on my Instagram account. This little space over the stove was something I was really excited about. The woodworker incorporated corbels that were a part of a shelf that came with the house (it was actually in the garage). I had always loved the shape of the corbels and was delighted to incorporate them in this space. While it's not visible in the photos, he also added a plate rail to the shelf, so I can also display platters and such.

I've wanted this place to be easy to transition from season to season. And with fresh flowers and printables, it's really simple.

The pumpkin print on the blue and white background is available for you to download below. I also linked to the pumpkin quote printable, as well.

Pumpkin Printables
This smaller printable reads "When life gives you pumpkins, make pie." I thought that seemed fitting for a kitchen area, especially as we head into the fall season. This is a part of a set of free printable pumpkin quotes that I just released. They're all kind of fun...plus low on ink usage!

Zinnia Flowers
I used one of my blue and white containers and filled it with zinnias from my garden. Last year, the zinnias in my cutting garden bloomed straight through Halloween, so I kind of consider them a fall flower around here. I thought their colors and textures added a lot of interest to this space.

Blue and white candlesticks
I also incorporated a couple of my blue and white candlesticks to add a bit of height and balance on this side of the shelf. I laid one of my brass candle snuffers here, too. It's both for extra color and I actually use it, as well. It keeps wax from going everywhere when the candles are extinguished. Plus, candle snuffers are just kind of fun to use, right?

When Life Gives You Pumpkins, Make Pie
The smaller printable is displayed on an antique floral frog. I used the 4x6" size and cut the length down a bit so it didn't block the larger framed print.

Fall Kitchen Decor
Below the shelf, on the stove area, I added a pumpkin candle and ceramic pumpkin, as well. But, I do think my favorite part of the space is the pumpkin printable I put together for it. I was wanting to tie in the blue and white theme with pumpkins and I was quite happy with the outcome of this design as it came together. It's perfect for all of you blue and white lovers out there!

Budget-Friendly Framing

Thrift Store Frame

I wanted a heavier gold frame in this space, but they can be quite pricey. I stumbled onto this wooden frame (pictured above) at Goodwill for $1.99. I simply used the Gold Leaf Rub 'n Buff all over it for an instant makeover (in all honesty, I use it with my fingers, which is probably not the best application method, but it goes on so well that way). Then I added in the white matte to really dress the frame up. Incidentally, this same size matte was pricier at Hobby Lobby than it was through Amazon here. I was really pleased with the quality, too.

I already had the Rub 'n Buff on hand, so the entire frame set up was less than $10. For such a heavy gold frame (with a matte!), I was really happy with that.

Free Pumpkin Printable

Details on the blue and white patterned printable are below. Again, the pumpkin quote printable (along with two other quote options) can be found in this post here.

Free Pumpkin Printables
  • This pumpkin printable is for personal use. However, if you do have a small shop or business and would like to carry the printed version (no digital reselling is allowed), you can purchase a commercial license here.
  • The pumpkin printable is available in the following sizes and formats:
    • 8x10" JPEG
    • 8x10" PDF
    • 5x7" JPEG
    • 5x7" PDF (has two designs per page for less paper waste)
  • The PDF designs are perfect for at-home printing.
  • The JPEGS can be printed like an image or photo and uploaded to a photo-printing place.
  • When printing your PDFs at home, make sure to use white, letter-sized cardstock for the best results. You can purchase a pack here on Amazon.
  • I like to cut out my printables with my Fiskars Paper Trimmer (it makes quick and precise work of cuts). But regular scissors will certainly get the job done, too!

Paper Corner Rounder
If you don't want to frame your printable, it's fun to use a paper corner rounder to jazz up the corners. You can grab one here on Amazon. Then you can display your print on one of these wooden display blocks (see how to use it in the below photo).

Fall Chinoiserie Decor
The display blocks only work with smaller sized printables. 8x10" ones are too large.

It probably looks like this image (above) is turned the wrong way. I purposefully display it like this to show how it will look when you download, and then print it.
