Even though it looks a bit different this year, travel season is still upon us. I definitely wanted to include a new set printable luggage tags in the summer series. I just adore a cute way to personalize a suit case and make it a bit more colorful and happy.

Using Your Printable Luggage Tags

I always do a few prototypes when I create luggage tags. I try to create front-to-back-printable tags so you don't have to stick two cards in a luggage tag holder. However, I'll be honest, it's not an easy feat. I always have some friends print them and try them, as well. Everyone's printers do something a bit different and it's a bit of a mess. I'm fairly well versed in back-to-back printing, but this isn't the norm, for sure. So, once again, I'm going with the one-sided printing to make these as user-friendly as possible. And hey, a little double sided tape goes a long way.

Luggage Tag Supplies

I designed these printable luggage tags to fit inside these clear, PVC travel tag pouches that I grabbed HERE on Amazon (you can see them pictured above).

If you already have existing tags you'd like to use, these colorful luggage tags are fairly simple to trim and use with those.

The tags work best when printed onto letter-sized white cardstock that you can grab here on Amazon.

You can use double sided tape and attach the front and back of your tags to one another.

You can grab this same double-sided tape I use here on Amazon. I like it because it's permanent.

I personally like to skip the plastic attachy-thingy that comes with the luggage tags and go for some fun ribbon. This makes my suitcase easy to spot on the luggage carousel which is a huge plus. If you tie it in a knot, you shouldn't have any issues with the ribbon catching on anything in transit. If you use grosgrain ribbon or similar, be sure to sear the edges with a lighter (super carefully) to prevent frayed edges.

I used this blue and white gingham ribbon that I found here on Amazon (it matches these tags perfectly).
But, I love a nice grosgrain, too, and always recommend this grosgrain sample pack here on Amazon (I use it all the time).

Assembling Your Luggage Tags

First, start by downloading the tags below
Cut out all of the pieces of your luggage tags.

I love my Fiskar's Paper Trimmer for these kinds of printables. It's a workhorse. You can get the same one here on Amazon (as pictured above).

Use the double sided tape and attach the front and back of your tags to one another.
Remove the paper contact information tag that came in the plastic luggage tags and carefully slip your new colorful tags inside the pouch.
String your ribbon (if you're going that route) through the hole in the luggage tag holder and tie onto your suitcases and bags.
