Blue Velvet IKEA Sectional Slipcover

This Blue Velvet IKEA Sectional Slipcover post is brought to you by Bemz Designs. All opinions are mine alone.

This gorgeous new Blue Velvet IKEA Sectional Slipcover is a work of art, y'all. I can't quit looking at it (and running my hand across the cushions!). I think it's totally transformed the look of our family room, too. Come check out this Blue Velvet IKEA Sectional Slipcover below.
 Sectional Slipcover
When we first purchased this home, we still owned our previous home and wanted to keep it partially staged for potential buyers. We had no idea how long that house would be on the market, so we decided to grab an inexpensive couch from IKEA to have something to sit on in the meantime. That couch turned into the Ektorp sectional that we fell in love with after getting it in our home and really enjoying it. And while I loved its original white slipcover I've had on it the past two years, I am just a bit more colorful! I was feeling like it was time for a change.

Enter Bemz. Bemz is a European-based company that makes customized covers for many IKEA lines (I have the Ektorp sectional, pictured in this post). They also make curtains, cushions, and bedroom textiles. They came to my rescue and helped me transform our plain white IKEA sectional into a work of art. I chose the Zaragoza Vintage Velvet Ultra Marine slipcover for our couch. I could not be more pleased! Did you catch my Facebook video when readers helped me with my selection? It was such a fun process. We still have a few more things to do in this room (bookcases! yay!), but this new Bemz IKEA Sectional Slipcover has really brought the entire space together nicely.

Selecting an IKEA Sectional Slipcover

Bemz made the selection process super fun. They let me request color samples and sent them right to my door (pictured above). You should totally check out their sample page to see the LOADS of options (it's mind-blowing, y'all). It ended up being a close tie between the Ultra Marine, Cranberry, and Emerald. But in the end, I'm seriously in love with our Zaragoza Vintage Velvet Ultra Marine. It has made our room, as my husband calls it...rockstar. After making my selection, Bemz set out to custom create my IKEA sectional slipcover for me. A few weeks later, FedEx was dropping it off. It was a super easy process. And they make covers for more than just the IKEA Ektorp line. They cover practically all of the IKEA pieces...with magic
Bemz Pillows
I have a couple of Bemz pillow covers, too. They fit my holiday pillows perfectly and really are so soft!

Using and Cleaning The IKEA Sectional Slipcover

One thing that kind of wore on me with our previous white slipcover was how difficult it was to get back on the couch every time we removed it to wash it. Loved the wash factor...hated the putting-back-on-factor. It was always a two person job with loads of tugging and pulling. This new Bemz IKEA Sectional Slipcover went on like buttah, y'all. It went on a lot faster and was not the big tug-fest we previously had going on in here. The zippers are sturdy and slide easily on their tracks. The cushions fit perfectly, too. And, this slipcover is also able to be thrown in the wash, too. The germaphobe in me really loves this.

Pom Pom Pillows
I made the pom pom throw pillows (envelope style) to coordinate with the ultra marine color. I'll be sharing a tutorial on them, soon. The fabric is so fun (and who doesn't love a lil' pom pom trim?).

school map
I was actually toying with the idea of taking down the pull down map for another plate collection I have in a box (yes...another plate collection). However, seeing it with the pillows and slipcover, I think I may keep it up here for a while. It adds to fun eclecticness of the room.

Blue Slipcover

IKEA Ektorp Sectional
My husband bought the prettiest flowers that go perfectly with the pillows and really pop with the new slipcover.

Blue Velvet Sofa
I also moved the globe collection from my office into here...since I was really the only one who saw it in my office. I have a larger collection of globes in the dining room, which is right across from this space...I feel like this kind of ties those spaces together. The mirror belonged to my great grandmother and is pretty weathered...and I've now repainted it umpteen times.

Zebra Rug
My husband recently found the fun zebra rug, too! Oddly enough, it's our dog's favorite rug. She lays on it like a chalk outline. So weird.

Vintage Sofa
I'm so dang in love with this new slipcover, y'all. I can hardly contain my excitement! Hope you can all stop by for a sit, soon. ;)

Be sure to follow Bemz on Instagram, too, and see all of their amazing options.
