I loved my mini spring banner so much that was in this spot, I had to create one for the fall, as well. This little fall mini banner can be as long as you need it to be and will be a lovely addition to your autumn decor.

These little scalloped banner pieces have a fun leaf print on each and every one. I like to rotate the patterns on the strings. There are four patterns included in this free printable.

How to Assemble Your Fall Mini Banner

Supplies

  • regular white paper (cardstock is too thick for this type of banner)
  • To achieve a "frilly" look, you'll need a 2" scalloped craft punch. These are available at craft stores or here on Amazon.
  • If you prefer, you can use a plain 2" circle punch (available here on Amazon), or just cut your circles out with regular scissors.
  • craft glue
  • jute twine for stringing up your banner (grab it here on Amazon)
  • clothespins (I used mini clothespins): These are to keep the scallops closed while their glue is drying. You won't see them in the finished banner...so you can use paper clips or whatever you have on hand.

Directions

  • I have found the simplest method to punch the circles is to cut strips out of the printout. Then I take my punch along the strip and pop out each of the scalloped circles.
  • Just keep punching out circle after circle until you get the desired number of circles for the length of banner you'd like.
  • Cut a length of the twine for your banner.
Please note: I created these circles to be a bit larger than the 2" size of the actual punch, so you won't have any of the white showing when you punch (I always prefer a margin for error!).

  • Pre-fold the scallops to get them ready to glue. Don't skip this step...it makes a big difference when you're assembling the scallops onto the twine.
  • Glue your scallops onto the twine, fold, and hold them in place with clothespins until dry. I just added a dab of glue to one side of the fold.
  • Let your banner dry completely before removing the clothespins.
  • Then hang your banner for the season and admire!
