Fall Bedroom Decor

I'm sharing some simple fall bedroom decor with you today, in honor of National Make Your Bed Day! While we're at it, I went ahead and snapped some photos of the entire room...since I had been dragging my feet on sharing our bedroom here in the new house on this site. And by "new house", I mean...we've lived here well over a year.

Not only am I sharing bedding and bedroom ideas today, this is actually a blog hop! I've joined three super talented ladies in this National Make Your Bed Day celebration. We're all giving the scoop on our favorite bed and bedroom decor tips.

I think my favorite thing in here right now is my new duvet cover from Crane & Canopy. It's kind of dreamy, y'all. I was wanting something with lots of texture and ruffle. The Crane & Canopy Sutter White design is complete perfection. Its ruched white ruffles give our bed an extra special prettiness that it was crying out for. With such a dark wood headboard, I needed something a little feminine to balance things out. Plus, it's way easier to make your bed when you love how it looks...am I right?

I shared how we made our headboard from old bifold doors a while back. The doors cost me $9 at the church garage sale, y'all. Click here to see the tutorial for how they went together.

Oh, and I'm such a sucker for pretty details. The Crane & Canopy bedding is packaged so beautifully...with a pretty little lavender sachet and handwritten note. LOVE.

In the cooler months, I prefer layers of bedding, as well. I have the quilt we've used for a few years folded at the bottom of the bed. And a fun fringed throw, as well. But the star of the show is definitely the duvet cover. It's romantic and glamorous and makes our bedroom feel more fancy hotel-ish than the 1972 rancher it really is.

I have the coordinating Sutter White Shams, too. With the size of our bed and the Euro pillows I already had, I think I may use the shams in the guest bedroom...they're truly gorgeous, as well.

I usually have a simple dried lavender wreath in here, but replaced it with something more fall-ish.

The buffalo-checked Sweet Dreams Pillow is one of my latest designs.

I do enjoy all of the light this room gets...it has these two windows on this side and a sliding glass door on the other side of the room that opens into our sunroom.

We originally bought this 300+ year old antique dresser for our son's room a couple of years ago. It quickly occurred to us that a teenage boy doesn't always use much finesse when operating 300 year old drawers. We quickly switched dressers with him, but I actually love this in here so much better. It goes really well with the headboard, without being too matchy-matchy.

The antique Linden alarm clock belonged to my late Aunt Margaret. Not only did she leave me the church plate addiction I've shared on here, but lots of fun chotchkies like this. I've always made it a point to have this sweet little porcelain clock in my bedroom since she left it to me. It reminds me of her classic style that filled her own home.

I made the canvas with one of our favorite hymns in mind.
I have a free printable version here, if you'd like it.

My antique plate wall spent the first year in our new home in a box.
Finally got it onto the wall this summer.

The large platter in the middle belonged to my great grandmother.
The others are from thrift stores here and there.
I use THESE to hang them wirelessly. They're genius.

The larger mirror was a surprise from my husband a couple of years ago.

This chair is both a blessing and a curse. It's been on its way to Goodwill umpteen times, but then I have a change of heart and go rescue it and bring it back into the house.  I can't quit this chair. I purchased two other chairs for this space a few months ago, but they just weren't comfortable. I am a night owl in every sense of the word, so once my husband turns in, I sit in this chair and work on my laptop (and watch RHONY, if I'm being totally honest). One day, I will find the perfect replacement, but until then, I'm just enjoying this beast in all her paisley, sprung-recliner glory.

  5. This is just the coziest bed. I don't think I would ever want to get out of it! I really see myself propped up that beautiful bedding sipping tea while getting cozy in the stunning Crane & Canopy bedding. I love the look of the style you picked, because it totally hides wrinkling and bunching. It's perfect for making beds quickly!
