Budget-Friendly Halloween Decor

Halloween is just around the corner, y'all. I have decked out my kitchen with some budget-friendly Halloween decor...including an easy glitter pumpkin banner, a simple centerpiece, and bats galore!

I have two main areas of my kitchen that I like to decorate seasonally. One is my built-in hutch that houses all of my vintage jadeite-colored dishes. The other is my coffee bar (AKA, the hardest working spot in our home). I swung by my local 99 Cents Only store and found EVERYTHING I needed for fun and budget-friendly Halloween decor. There is always something new and exciting at the 99. You never know what you'll find when you "do the 99" (shop at 99 Cents Only Stores)! Check out all of my decor below (with some simple tutorials on the pumpkin banner, bat decor, and cauldron floral arrangements.

I think my favorite thing may be the pumpkin banner. It's sparkly and glittery and just plain fun, y'all. The bats are the same texture, so they go together nicely displayed here. 

I went a little batty for the bats at the 99, y'all. I actually grabbed some for a friend to use in her classroom for her Halloween party. They're just too cute for words. 

I promise that I did leave *some* bats behind for my fellow 99'ers. I also grabbed the pumpkins, too...they were in the Halloween aisle of my 99. They also had skulls and witches, too. I was purely going for orange and black decor this year, so I stuck to the bats and pumpkins.

There were so many fun things at the 99 in the Halloween aisle. I'm seriously waiting patiently for their holiday stuff to go out now...it will be so awesome! 99 Cents Only Stores have all of your favorite name brands at a price that can't be beat.

The bats and pumpkins come four to a pack...perfect for budget-friendly Halloween decor. Fair warning: the glitter does tend to shed a bit. 

I also grabbed some Halloween tulle at my 99 to use in my banner.

To make the pumpkin banner, I simply cut out the small string attached to the pumpkins.

I utilized the holes that were already in place in the pumpkin stems.

Then I strung the black Halloween tulle through the tops of the pumpkins. Since the tulle is thick, the pumpkins don't slide around too much...but are movable enough to place the pumpkins where you want them to stay.

Then I simply hung the pumpkin banner on my hutch in the breakfast room.

To make the 3D bat decorations, grab some of these Foam Mounting Squares at your 99. I seriously use these so much, y'all. They're a decorator's dream for holding things in place practically anywhere. I use them a lot for the banners I design when they don't hang just so. 

I grabbed the Foam Mounting Squares in the craft aisle. 

They also have tape runners if you use those for scrapbooking...such a great deal!

I gently folded the bat in half to give it a 3D effect and make the bats look like they're coming right off the walls. I cut one of the adhesive squares in half and used one half on the top and one half on the bottom of the bat to mount the bats where I needed them. I use these a lot and haven't had issues with them removing wall paint...however, you may want to do a test in an inconspicuous spot to make sure they won't harm your walls or wherever you want to use them.

Then just peel the backside of the foam pieces and stick them in place.

I placed a few bats in my coffee bar area, too.

The candle holders were from the Halloween aisle at the 99, too.

At the very top of my coffee bar (next to my collection of vintage coffee cups), I added a cauldron full of orange and black faux flowers. There are two of these in my hutch also!

All of the Halloween flower stems and the cauldrons were from the 99, too.

I found the Halloween flowers in a different spot than the rest of the floral items at my 99. They were in the seasonal aisle, under the ceramic decorative pumpkins.

I simply used wire cutters to trim the bottoms of the flowers and then I stuck them into the black cauldrons. These would make an adorable centerpiece, too. The skulls in the middles of the orange flowers are glittery and coordinate perfectly with the pumpkins and bats. There is also glitter along the petal edges of the flowers, too.

Cauldrons aren't just for potions, y'all!

In the middle of my breakfast table, I used a mason jar from the jar aisle at the 99 and tied it with some of the black Halloween tulle I used in the banner to hold fresh flowers. Then I used more of my colorful votive holders from the 99 to surround the jar and add some color to the table.

Seriously, these votives are stunning, y'all.

They glow beautifully when the candles are lit.

I was in love with all of the ceramic pumpkins at the 99.

Polka dots, harlequin, and chevron...so much cuteness, y'all!

I ended up grabbing a bunch of the polka dot pumpkins to use in my built-in hutch. These would have cost me an arm and a leg at the craft store. They're seriously so cute and whimsical and coordinate perfectly with my decor. I love how much I save by shopping at the 99. I always grab a lot of their fresh produce when I'm there, too...perfect for my kids' lunches and recipes we create at home.

They were the perfect little touch and look so cute with all of my antique dishes. Decorating this hutch seasonally was one of the things I looked forward to the most when we bought this house. But, I love that I can shop at the 99 for all of my decor and not break the bank.
