Giving a Meaningful Gift this Season

We're shifting gears a bit and giving a meaningful gift this season.
Check out how you can, too.

Y'all, I'm going to be a bit of a mess throughout this post, so just bear with me, k? Sometimes I look around and wonder, "Why are we blessed? Why not everyone?" While I certainly can't answer these questions, I can start a conversation with my own kiddos with how to help others that aren't as fortunate. This year, we're changing up Christmas a bit. I'm a bit over the commercialism and mass amounts of materialistic expectations that tend to surface this time of the year...I'm certainly guilty of that, too. I get on social media and immediately start with the "my house isn't as Christmas pretty as hers..." or, "gosh, I need just one (more) pair of perfect boots to complete that Christmas outfit..." or, "wow, Christmas cards...mine are never as fancy as everyone else's,"...I could go on and on. But, then, I see these photos on the CARE site and am humbled to my core. Why do I even give a flip about a pair of pretty boots when all these sweet faces would just give anything for one single meal? One. I mean, really, y'all? I'm rallying the troops and we're doing things a bit different this year. Check out how we're picking out gifts from this CARE catalog this year>>>
Instead of buying all of the gifts we usually purchase for one another, we're scaling back in our house to just a couple each (still a luxury, right?). But we're taking what we would have spent and putting it into gifts from the CARE catalog to those in need. Click here to see some of the AMAZING gifts you can choose for these incredible folks...you can gift them in honor of others.
There are so many options on the CARE site to choose from. Some of the ones my family is considering:

  • A Food Basket for a Displaced Family ($81)
  • Cleaning of 2,000 Liters of Water ($41.40)
  • One Month of Meals for a Person During an Emergency ($27.90)
  • School Uniforms for Two Girls ($38)
  • Two Pairs of School Shoes ($30)
  • ...and so many more!

The thought of having an over-abundance of gifts and knowing there are those without clean water is ridiculously unsettling. I'm super excited to be implementing the CARE program into our family's holiday traditions. And what's even better? My kids are so excited, too.

Want to know how this great program began?
After World War II, the original CARE Package came about to help those suffering across a devastated Europe. It changed the world by delivering food...and hope!
Today's package is a bit different, but still every bit as important. The CARE packages provide relief today as well as the foundation for a better tomorrow. They're built on the same premiss as the World War II packages...you can still deliver lasting change.
Join my family as we work to make this Christmas less about what we get and a whole lot more about what we give. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION.
