I love a pretty kite. When I see one being flown, I'm like a little kid and have to stop and stare. They're just pretty. Today's kite printable is simple, but lovely. It's 'Enjoy the Summer' message is kind of in regards to the carefree-ness of a kite. This kite printable is available in your favorite sizes and with two background options below.

Nothing's more summery than a good ol' fashioned kite dancing in the air. I hope you love this simple, but sweet, kite printable for your own summertime decor.

Today's free kite printable is available with or without the bright blue and white checked background. I have to say, I really do love how the kite pops off the check version, so it's probably my favorite.

Kite Printables

This Kite Printable was inspired by my youngest son, who, as many of you know, wants to become a professional stage actor one day. He had his debut on the stage four years ago as Michael Banks in our local theater's production of Mary Poppins. My absolute favorite part of the play was when his character, along with Burt (and Mr. Banks), sing Let's Go Fly a Kite together in the park. You can see them in this scene in the image below. That little sailer-suited boy now towers over me!
Let's Go Fly a Kite

Let's Go Fly a Kite

Richard M. Sherman, Robert B Sherman, David Tomlinson

With tuppence for paper and strings
You can have your own set of wings
With your feet on the ground
You're a bird in flight
With your fist holding tight
To the string of your kite
Oh, oh, oh!
Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height!
Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a kite!
When you send it flyin' up there
All at once you're lighter than air
You can dance on the breeze
Over 'ouses and trees
With your first 'olding tight
To the string of your kite
Oh, oh, oh!
Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height!
Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Let's go fly a kite!

  3. Thank you very much for the kite printables! I love them! Thank you also for printing the lyrics to the song "Let's Go Fly a Kite." It's from the movie Mary Poppins, which was the first movie I ever saw in a movie theatre. It brings back such good memories! My mother took my brother, sister, and me to see it at the Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville, Tennessee when I was about 5 years old. Then we got to eat hamburgers at the Blue Circle restaurant. She even let me get a cake donut with caramel icing! That all was a real treat for us!
