I think there is nothing sweeter than a small, snow covered church during the Christmas season. I thought that scene would be the perfect backdrop for today's Merry Christmas Printable. From stained-glass windows all aglow to a door decked out in festive holiday garland, this little church is ready for Christmas Eve services (by candlelight, I'm sure!). You can download this free Merry Christmas Printable in your preferred size below.

The little church on these printables actually reminds me of our own little church we attend (not in looks, per se, but in the feeling it gives off. Sweetness and earnestness through and through is (I hope) what comes across in this Christmas design. And you'll definitely find our own church all aglow during the Advent season, just like this one. I thought having a watercolor printable of this nature would capture the essence of the Christmas season...the celebration of the birth of Jesus.

While we live in Texas and snow only comes about once every five years or so, I certainly dream of wintry places like the one I've put together on today's printable. Of course, some of you that actually live in these places may loathe that kind of weather after a few months of it, but those of us down here sure think it's pretty (from afar, I guess). So, a snow-covered little church seemed completely fitting for a Christmas printable. I think I'd almost want to take a sled to get to church in this place!

And while I went back and forth over what wording to use on this particular print, I think that classic Merry Christmas was the most fitting phrase of all. Let it Snow seemed a bit trite for the church ambiance I was hoping for. And Seasons Greetings fell a bit flat, as well. But there is nothing wrong with a tried and true classic.

And, you know I had to make this into a Christmas Card, too, right? Actually, that was my husband's idea this time around. You can find this free Merry Christmas Card Printable over on my greeting card site, Print Pretty Cards.

Printing and Framing Your Merry Christmas Printable

Normally, I make a couple of background options when I have a print with a heavier-ink background. In this case, nothing else felt quite right, so there is just one design. However, I do have one trick that you can use below to save a smidge of your ink.

I also found this cute silver and matted frame (pictured above) over on Amazon in the 8x10" size (it's actually an 11x14" frame, but the matte makes it work perfectly for an 8x10"). I love a matte with printables like this, where the design bleeds right up to the edge of the design. A matte really makes them pop in the frame. You can grab this frame here. I think the silver is kind of on the holidayish side.
  • Please note that this printable design is for personal use only. However, if you do own a small shop or business and would like to carry the printed versions of these signs (no digital reselling is allowed), you may purchase a commercial license here.
  • I often have folks asking if they can use the church-style prints I create on their church bulletins or printed material. The answer to that is yes. If it's strictly a non-profit use, then that's perfect.
  • Download links are listed below. I am now including three options, including a Google Drive link.
  • This Merry Christmas Printable is available in the following sizes and formats:
    • 8x10" JPEG and PDF
    • 5x7" JPEG and two-to-a-page PDF
    • 4x6" JPEG and two-to-a-page PDF
  • If you're printing at home, I highly recommend using the PDF options. They will stay truer to their size.
  • The 5x7 and 4x6 PDF options both come with two prints to a page for less paper waste.
  • The 8x10" PDF is actually laid onto a letter-size template for easier printing. Just print, trim and frame.
  • To save yourself a bit of ink, you can even print in DRAFT mode on your home printer. Since this is a watercolor print, it will create unique striations in your image.
  • The JPEG options can be uploaded to your local print shop or photo printer for easy printing. You can print them just like a photo, but I highly recommend a matte finish.
  • As always, I recommend printing on white letter-sized cardstock for the best outcome when printing at home. It produces a truer color and more professional result.

  1. Kristi, I used to live in Texas. While I was born in Northern Illinois, living in North Fort Worth, Texas made me realize that the snow was beautiful and I missed it. I especially missed it at Christmas. The warm weather didn't make it feel Christmassy. Now, living in Southern Wisconsin I miss the un-seasonal weather of Texas winters. Can't please me I guess. Having said all that, I really love your church. It does remind me of the little church I attended in Missouri. Thank you for you wonderful prints. Your seasonal and holiday prints are "right on". Love them and thank you again.

    1. Oh, thank you so much. I must have forgotten to add it in. I went in and added that you can print this one in DRAFT mode on your printer (which will save you some ink). That setting can produce a unique striation that works well with watercolor prints like these. Hope this helps. xoxo
