It's the season of Christmas wishes, isn't it. Whether you're wishing for world peace, or, well, maybe a new slow cooker, putting together a little list may be helpful to your loved ones. This Christmas Wish List Printable is perfect for kids of all ages...even those that are young at heart.

This Free Christmas Wish List Printable can be used in a variety of situations. Whether it's kids making a list for Santa, spouses making wishes known to one another, or maybe a more thoughtful class project where all of the gifts must be to benefit others (and of the non "stuff" kind)...there are so many ways to utilize this one. I actually hesitated to post this particular print, since it could come across as a bit materialistic. But, it's truly meant with the joy and spirit of the season.

When my nieces and nephews were young, my mother had a rather unique way of having them compile their wish lists of toys and such for her to buy them for Christmas. After the last piece of pie was served at Thanksgiving, the large catalogs would come out into the middle of the living room floor (we're talking the big Sears or Montgomery Wards catalogs...the ones that truly meant business in the toy department). She would also assign each grandkid a color of marker. Then they were to circle their top items in the catalog. She'd sit down the next day and budget out which of their desires would work out. And voila, all of the gifts were ordered, shipped, then wrapped and readied for the big day.

But the moment those catalogs hit the floor was almost a magical experience for all the kids. Feverishly flipping pages, some kids circling the same things as their cousins, and all the "oohs" and "ahhs" over what this year's toy section of the catalogs had in store.

While catalogs of those types are kind of a bygone thing, it's still fun to kind of make a little list. My husband actually prefers for me to do this with things I've been thinking over (read: an Instant Pot). And now that our own kids are in teenager-land, their wishes are a bit more specific than mom or dad can just remember off the top of their head. I mean, the video game versions and which console they would go to, and all of that is enough to make my head spin. A handy little Christmas Wish List Printable is definitely a nice thing to have at the ready this time of year.

  1. My children remember going through the Sears Wish Book. It was full of toys and each one circled their favorite items and put their initials in the circle, just so I would be sure to know who wanted what. That was in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Fast forward to 2019. A smaller catalog arrived in the mail. It was called "Play Together" and off to the side was "Amazon's Ultimate Wish List for kids!" So the catalog idea is still alive and well.
