We're stepping up our Halloween Porch Decor this year, but keeping our budget in check. We'd like to be the most candy-licious house on the block that all the trick or treaters are excited about! See how our Halloween porch came together below.
Halloween Porch Decor
From candy-corn lollipops, a deliciously sweet wreath, and fun touches here and there, our Halloween porch decor is a bit on the whimsical side this year...and we're loving it. I grabbed the goodies to create this space at 99 Cents Only Stores. Check it all out below.

Budget-Friendly Halloween Porch Decor

Cute Halloween Decor
Every year, our neighbors around the block have unbelievably amazing Halloween porch decor. Like, whoa. While I know it's not a competition, let's face it...it's a competition. And of course, it's in a totally friendly and neighborly way. But this year, our house is ready...and quite possibly with the sweetest Halloween porch decor ever.

Cute Fall Front Porch
These candy-corn-esque lollipops were the basis of my decor out here. I'll show you how easy they are to make below (there's a free printable you can use). And you can't have a fall porch in the south without some mums, y'all. I grabbed all of this fun stuff at my 99.

Candy Corn Wreath
And the star of the porch is the candy corn wreath! Again, I'll show you below how this came together. A word to the wise: be sure to coat this well with varnish to display it outside (more details below).

Halloween Decor at 99 Cents Store
All of my Halloween porch decor fun started in the seasonal aisle of my 99. It was packed with Halloween fun galore! I shop the 99 in Waco on Bosque Road, for those of you who are local. Click here to find a 99 close to you. 99 Cents Only Stores have all of your favorite name brands at a price that can't be beat.

Halloween Lights
The first couple of items I grabbed were these adorable witch legs (they're in my mums now and are just the cutest) and some candy-corn-themed twinkle lights. I placed the lights into my green plants on the porch to give them the Halloween vibe, too.

The first craft I created for the porch was the candy corn lollipops.

How to Make Candy Corn Lollipops

These homemade Halloween-themed lollipops started with paper plates and cellophane wraps from the party aisle of the 99.

Candy Corn Lollipop

Supplies for a Candy Corn Lollipop:

  • yellow paper plates from the 99 (they're the perfect shade of yellow!)
  • cellophane birthday bags from the 99
  • orange tulle (also from the 99)
  • my free printable lollipop center (download here or below)
  • wooden dowel rods

Cellophane Bags
Look for these cellophane basket bags at the 99 to use for the lollipops' wrappers. You can get four lollipop wrappers out of one package. They're in the party and gift wrap aisle.

Paper Party Goods
The yellow plates are located in the same aisle.
Printable Lollipops

Lollipop Craft

Assembling the Lollipop

  • Cut out the printable lollipop center and glue it in the middle of a yellow plate.
  • Glue the plate to a wooden dowel rod in your desired length. I used hot glue for this. The 99 has hot glue for less than any of my local craft stores.
  • Cut your cellophane basket bag in half (width-wise).

Decorative Lollipops

  • Wrap the end of one bag around the lollipop plate and secure at the base using a twist tie from the cellophane package (if you run out, you can use string). If the ends or edges stick out too much, glue or tape them to the back of the plate.
  • Then cut a foot of tulle and tie it over the twist tie or string.
  • Once all of the glue is dry, you can stick your lollipops in your plants.
  • Use caution since these are not completely waterproof. The cellophane helps protect the lollipop from a light shower, but if you have a deluge or downpour, you may want to bring the lollipops in out of the weather.

Halloween Tulle
The Halloween tulle is available in the seasonal aisle of the 99. You can see the lights I grabbed on the shelf on the bottom.

Making a Candy Corn Wreath

Easy Candy Wreath

  • This wreath is based off the candy corn wreath from my blogger friend, Aimee, at It's Overflowing. I did reinforce my wreath differently (details below).
  • Start with a wreath form (check for a variety of these in the crafts aisle at your 99).
  • You'll also need about five of the smaller bags of candy corn, black duct tape, Halloween tulle, twine, and hot glue (I recommend low temp so your candy corn doesn't melt).
  • Start by wrapping your wreath form in the duct tape.

Candy Corn on a Wreath

  • Hot glue your candy corn in rows (make sure they stay lined up from top to bottom).
  • Keep going the entire way around your wrapped wreath form (except the back, so it can lay flat against your door, or wherever you choose to display it).

Candy Corn Crafts

  • To reinforce my wreath, I used sturdy twine. Hot glue it down under the candy corn. Let it dry before adding the rows of candy corn on top of it, to hide it.
  • Use any type of furniture varnish or polyurethane to seal the wreath completely. This will help protect the wreath from the elements and critters (although, I do bring mine inside at nighttime since we have deer).
  • When you hang the wreath, you'll wrap the tulle on top of the twine to disguise it, but the weight of the wreath will actually be on the twine, itself. With all of the candy in place, this wreath becomes quite heavy.

DIY Halloween Wreath
As you can see from above, the twine doesn't show, but it does hold all the weight of the wreath on it.

Halloween Candy
While our candy-licious decor is one thing, let's face it, the kids really care about the actual candy, right? Since we know a lot of our neighbor kids, I put together the cutest boxes of candy corn for them (the boxes are in the Halloween aisle at the 99). For kids that we don't know, I made sure to grab some wrapped candy lollipops.

Halloween Buckets
I also grabbed the big orange tub and little cauldron at the 99. They're perfect for passing out candy on the big night. The 99 is the perfect place to grab all of your treats for Halloween. There is always something new and exciting at the 99. You never know what you'll find when you "do the 99" (shop at 99 Cents Only Stores)!

Mum Plants
Be sure to grab mums at your 99, too. I planted mine a couple of weeks ago. With all the rain we've had, mine look so good now!

Witch Legs
And don't the witch legs look so adorable popping out of my mums? While they're not "candyish", I just truly couldn't resist their cuteness.

Easy Halloween Porch Decor
Grab a few pumpkins at your 99, too!

Candy Corn Lollipops
The lollipops peeking out of my green plants from the summertime give them a Halloween vibe, too. As you can see, I also tucked in those Halloween candy-corn twinkle lights into these plants.

Southern Fall Front Porch
I'm always the one who stays home and hands out the candy for the big night...I think this will be the perfect spot.

Decorating for Halloween
Hoping all of the little ghosts and goblins love our candified front porch! Don't forget to find your own 99 Cents Only Store here.

  6. One Fall, I created a door decoration using dried ears of corn, etc. The next day all of the corn was gone. Cobs were still in place though. Squirrel had quite a 'feast' of dried corn.
