Dole Whip Poke Cake

This Dole Whip Poke Cake will make you feel like you're standing outside the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room at Disneyland. It's got the yummy pineapple flavor that the traditional Dole Whip is known for...along with a soft-serve-like icing.

Dole Whip Poke Cake: all of the flavors of the legendary Disney treat into a delicious, moist, poke cake.
Huge Dole Whip fan here. It's the Disney treat I live for. And I'm kind of a Dole Whip purist in that I will only get the pineapple flavor (which is actually the only variety at Disneyland...and DL is the originator of the 'whip, so I feel like that's what I'm ordering no matter what resort I'm at). I'm also of the Dole Whip Float persuasion (where pineapple juice is poured over the pineapple soft serve...ummm, awesomesauce, y'all). These two magical treats are served at both Disneyland and Disneyworld in Adventure Land...right outside the Enchanted Tiki Room. Check out my Dole Whip Poke Cake recipe below...which is a mouthful of Disney, y'all.

Caramel Chai Tea Latte Cream Cola Floats

These Caramel Chai Tea Latte Cream Cola Floats are the perfect summertime treat...a little fancier than your average float, but totally worth the extra effort (and time on the treadmill!). #IDelightinChai
Caramel Chai Tea Latte Cream Cola Floats | Easy recipe with cola and chai tea latte! | The perfect, indulgent, summertime treat.
I'm pretty sure I invented the cola float. Well, I'd like to think I did. (Cue flashback harp music). As a little girl, the neighbors who lived directly across the street were known to me as Grandma and Grandpa (as a later-in-life-child, all of my biological grandparents passed away before I was born). Once a week, they'd take me to the local soda drive-in and we'd order root beer floats. When I was six, I felt it was time to tell them the truth of the matter: "I don't like root beer. At all.". I waited in anticipation of their complete and utter disappointment that I faked my way through many years of Root Beer Float Fridays as they turned to me from their front seats in their car.
"Well, let's see if they can make yours with regular cola," Grandma Hyde said. "No use ordering something you don't actually like, right?"

And the first non-root-beer-float was born (I'm *pretty* sure that's historically accurate, y'all...I mean I haven't checked Wiki to make sure they have my name spelled correctly, but I trust them on this). Nobody was upset that I didn't like root beer (I still don't...I mean, who wants to drink liquified anise root...amIright?). We just invented our own version right then and there. Check out my glorified version of the original cola float below.

Cinnamon Nut Flatbread

This Cinnamon Nut Flatbread is like a deconstructed cinnamon roll...but without the hassle of rolling! Oh, and it's delicious, too.

Cinnamon Nut Flatbread | A delicious deconstructed cinnamon roll!

Are you a John Mayer fan? He's my summertime jam, man. For the second summer in a row, Wildfire is my absolute favorite (over and over...and over). I listen to it alllll day, y'all. And I'm pretty sure this is my favorite line: "A little bit of summer is what the whole year's all about". Preach it, John.

I think we all need a little bit of summer to reset. Download this free printable below.

Ten-Minute Layered S'mores Summer Icebox Cake

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #LetsMakeSmores #CollectiveBias #sponsored

This Layered S'mores Icebox Cake is based off of my late aunt's icebox cake recipe. I used the traditional layered pudding and graham crackers but kicked it up to s'mores awesomeness with the addition of chocolate bars and toasted marshmallows. It's the perfect summer get-together dessert, y'all...or even easy enough to be a weeknight dessert. Take this to your next barbecue for sure!

Ten-Minute Layered S'mores Summer Icebox Cake | Easy & Fast No-Bake Cake With All of the Flavors of the Classic S'More!
Gosh, I love a good icebox cake. I've been making my late Aunt Margaret's icebox cake since I was a new bride almost 13 years ago. Her husband was a professional baker (I've shared a few of his famous Manhattan Cafe recipes on here before), and I was blessed to inherit their 100-year old recipe box full of their prized hand-written recipes. That box is like a little door to the past. It's absolutely stuffed full of goodies...many of which I now make on a regular basis. My aunt passed away almost 20 years ago, but creating some of her and Uncle Johnny's recipes still makes me feel connected to her...know what I mean? I'm sure they'd be excited to try this spin on their classic icebox cake. Not only did I change up the ingredients and flavors, I've drastically cut down the prep time, too (I mean, it's summer...I'm not up for standing over the hot stove stirring homemade pudding for an hour now, y'all!). I've gotten this down to a cool 10-minute cake that can be made the night before a barbecue or potluck. Check out the recipe below.

Free Skinny Fonts

These free skinny fonts are a fun and hip touch for all of your design needs.
They're awesome for printables, blog designs, logo designs, hobbies, and more.

Free Skinny Fonts | Over 20 Hip & Fun Skinny Fonts for Free Download
I've been wanting to create this post for quite sometime. I became slightly *obsessed* with skinny fonts around the time that I created the logo for our Inspiration Monday party a couple of years ago. They're kind of hipsterish and trendy, y'all...but I'm pretty okay with that. ;)
I think each of these fonts would pair beautifully with a "chunkier" script font. Most of them are sans serif, so a nice sturdy serif font would be fun matched up with them, too. Download your favorites below.

Double Chocolate Peppermint Brownies

These Double Chocolate Peppermint Brownies are crazy awesome, y'all!

Double Chocolate Peppermint Brownies | Easy homemade brownies using peppermint essential oil and dark chocolate chips.
Brownies are one of those things I really prefer homemade on (okay, I do have that one jazzed-up boxed mix recipe on here...but you know, other than that...). I also need a really thick brownie...none of this 1/2 inch brownie-business. I can only use an 8-inch pan to produce 1 1/2-inch brownie perfection. Adding peppermint only elevates the awesome. Check out this yumminess below.

Inspiration Monday

YAY! It's party day, y'all. Hope all of my American readers had a fabulous fourth yesterday! We sure did down in Texas! :)
