DIY Biscuits & Gravy Cutting Board Sign

I fixed up a thrift store cutting board into a fun sign with vinyl. I used my Silhouette machine and a little southern sass.

Around these parts, telling someone you love them more than biscuits and gravy is the real deal. That's serious commitment right there. And I'm kind of in love with this new little sign that popped right out of the Silhouette machine {in a manner of speaking}.

I laid my design out in my Silhouette software.
Here are the fonts I used to create this vintage-looking sign:
a. Laredo Trail /// b. K22 Ambelyn Condensed /// c. Bergamot Ornaments
f. K22 Ambelyn Condensed /// g. IFC Insane Rodeo

I used a cutting board I found at Goodwill. I sanded and re-stained it to remove the yuck. Then I cut out my vinyl on my Silhouette Cameo and applied it to the board. I seriously love working with this machine. It is life-changing, people! I made a lot of our Christmas gifts with it this year.

These were some of the gifts I made for Christmas...these were for some family members. I also made loads of personalized ornaments for my husband's co-workers. I also used the machine a bunch in my decorating this year, as well. Seriously...life-changing.

And there's a FANTASTIC promo going on right now to fill your Silhouette wish list. Pop over to Silhouette America and use code MOPPING to take advantage of this deal!

Super excited that I took a little time to make something for me, too!

So, who's in the mood for biscuits and gravy, now?

  2. Um, meeee! I want biscuits and gravy now!! I have a Cricut {which I will admit is gathering some dust} but I swear with all of these awesome projects I have been seeing I may need to trade it in for a Cameo. This sign is so cute! Pinned and a VERY happy New Year, sweet friend! xo

  17. Hi! Just wanted to make sure you were aware that a company that is selling their towels on Hautelook is using this exact font and design on one of their tea towels. I believe in giving credit where credit is due, and I hope you at least know about their usage of your design.

    1. Thank you, Andi! I appreciate this. As crazy as it sounds, I saw a towel in person with this same design of mine in a boutique recently. I was pretty upset about it, but at this point, am not sure how to approach it. I think I may start pursuing it a bit further at this point. It's so frustrating when that happens.
