I'm always looking for vintage storage ideas that fit seamlessly into our older home. I'm about to tackle my studio area. It now needs major organization after reorganizing the house for my dad. I've started finding the best vintage metal storage bins (on a budget) over on Amazon and I thought it would be fun to share them. Because attractive and functional can also be budget friendly, right?
When we moved my dad in with us, we had stuff coming out of our ears, y'all. We got rid of a ton, he got rid of a ton, but combining what was left was still quite overwhelming. And my office/studio space had become a dumping ground for "stuff we don't know what to do with". I ordered several of the below items on Amazon to help me out. Everything keeps with my vintage vibe, while still serving a great purpose. Check out all of these vintage metal storage bins and baskets for under $30 (all on Amazon).
Half Bath Makeover
This Half Bath Makeover has been done for a while. This is actually one of the first rooms that I completed in the new house. But, it's taken me a while to take photos...because it's such a tight space with no natural light! But I truly am happy with the fun, eclectic vibe it now has.
I'd love to say I put a bunch of thought and planning into this bathroom, but truthfully...it was kind of a conglomeration of a lot of things we had already. The walls are the same color of paint from my lower kitchen cabinets. The art was from our old home. The towel and rug are from a discount store and I hastily ordered the hardware and all of that online. We realized this room would be weirdly prominent...not that it's the first place people see. But, it is a place that is our guests' space. And, well...almost everyone who comes in makes a trip in here. We wanted it to be as comfortable for guests as possible.
Inspiration Monday
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend. We're enjoying a little time away at the beach...just what we needed! The summer is already passing so quickly...before we know it, school will be around the corner (I need to bite my tongue, right?). Hope your summer is treating you really well, so far!
Oh, and just a few more days to enter to win a new Black+Decker drill.
This week's features are fabulous for those times when you need an easy summer meal...but don't want to heat up your house by turning on the stove! This collection of Summer Salad and Slaw Recipes were selected by Kristi from I Should Be Mopping the Floor.
Free Printable Summer Reading Bucket List
This Free Printable Summer Reading Bucket List is perfect for the lazy, hazy days. We've instilled an hour of reading time every day in our home this season and my people are flying through the books. This is the perfect way to jot down all of our literary (and comic book) goals for the next couple of months. And, this baby is about to join us on our epic road trip!
Summer is truly the only time I read. I would love to read all year...but I'm one of those that has to devour a book in a sitting. I will literally stay up all night and fly through a book during the summer. I just can't put them down. If I do it the rest of the year...I'm completely off my schedule and am a mess for a week to recuperate (from a book...HA!). But, in summertime, our alarms aren't set, our schedule is looser, and things are just easier...and mom can read!
Next week, we're actually going on a pretty big road trip through five states. And get this...our kids have never done one this long. I'm preparing a few different ways. I'd love for all of us to get some good reading in. One thing I'm doing is loading my iPad with audiobooks from Audible (I'm using my free 30 day trial) that we can listen to in the car. Check out all the fun below.
DIY Vintage Iced Coffee Sign
This DIY Vintage Iced Coffee Sign is perfect for our back porch.
It was simple to create and goes well with our little chairs and table.
I'm sure it's pretty obvious if you've been to this blog before, but I love to make vintage-y signs. I don't use them all at the same time...they're kind of in a rotation of sorts. But, this one is perfection for summer-summer-summertime. And it's fabulous since we do serve iced coffee around these parts, y'all. Check out the tutorial below.

10 Black and White Hymn Printables
EDITED: These printables are about to be discontinued for good. They are available at HALF OFF! These are all going away for good on Sunday...USE CODE discontinued AT CHECKOUT TO SAVE 50% ON THEM!
Doing something completely new today, y'all. First, posting on a Saturday (wha?!?). Second, I've created my first set of printables for purchase. These are a complete set of 10 Black and White Hymn Printables. They would be gorgeous as a gallery wall or on their own.
Opening an online printable shop is something I've toyed with before...but never took the plunge. But, there are times when I create large sets of printables that I spend a bit more time on...so I thought I'd dive into this head first. These 10 printables are some of the most beloved and classic hymns around...so many of them mean so much to me.
Grab all 10 of these below.
Free Tune My Heart Printables
These Free Scripture Printables (from the Come Thy Fount hymn) were inspired by Tuesday's post. I thought it would be fun to create this art in a way that more people could enjoy...although, I'm not opposed to inviting you all over to stare at my Sharpie art using this hymn. ;)
This is available in both an 8x10 and an 11x14 print (which is why I keep referring to them in the plural sense...lol).
I explained on Tuesday why I love this particular hymn's words in the art piece I made for over the piano. I know not everyone has the time or want-to to create a full art piece (just us crazies, right?), so I thought I'd make it into two printables...one 8x10 and one 11x14 for today's freebies.
DIY Vintage Canvas Tutorial
This DIY Vintage Canvas Tutorial was made using Sharpie oil based paint markers...making the multi-colored design a breeze. I've got the complete tutorial, including the aging process, below.
