Hot Apple Pie Dip

This delicious Hot Apple Pie Dip is addictively yummy and easy to prepare.
It's the perfect sweet treat for holiday entertaining.
Hot Apple Pie Dip: Addictive, Yummy, and Easy to Prepare
This dip...ohhh, this dip. It tastes exactly like apple pie. But, it's also creamy and cheesy and just over-the-top delicious. The day I prepared it, my husband and I devoured half the dish before making ourselves stop...it was that good. I love that it's sweet, but also has the elements of cheese and pecans to add some really fun flavors and textures to it. As my grandma used to say, "an apple without cheese is like a hug with no squeeze"! I'm super happy that this dip took that into consideration.

I now know that this will be my go-to dip this holiday season. It seems like we're asked to bring an appetizer or sweet to just about every party...this covers both bases. This recipe is one of Nabisco's signature holiday recipes. Wheat Thins are the perfect dip cracker...they make up the "crust" element in the dip. I tried a spoonful of dip on its own (yeah, I know...it was that good)...but realized the Wheat Thins are an important part of the flavor. I mean, what's apple pie without crust?!?
But, back to this being the perfect holiday entertaining dip. I'm also putting together menus for Thanksgiving appetizers, Christmas Day noshing, and a fun little New Year's Eve soiree. The New Year's Eve get together is what I'm most excited about. Here's a few ideas I plan to implement from back in my event management days:
  • I plan to set up food and beverage stations in various places of the house (the living area, the kitchen, a small corner of the dining room, and even the back porch...because in Texas, we can hang out on the back porch in December!). This keeps guests moving throughout the entertaining spaces as they mingle with other guests. Plus, it stops the traffic jam at the buffet that always takes place.
  • I plan to play a simple break-the-ice nametag game to allow guests to get to know one another.
  • For all of my introvert friends (I'm one of them, I can totally relate), I plan to group chairs in pairs around the entertaining space so they can have one-on-one time with others...that's what introverts do best. Having little spots away from the crowd is a great getaway from the noise and excitement.
