Laundry Room Command Center: We Got It Together

Looking for a great way to control clutter and create simple organization in your home? A command center is a fun way to "get it together".

In our continuing laundry room decorating saga, we now have a command center to help us get it all under control {and there's A LOT that has to get under control in this space}. Board Dudes {a Rose Art company} was very gracious to send me some samples of their {VERY cool} magnetic, cork and dry erase organizing systems to try out.

So far...
we {big, fat, puffy} heart all of it. All of it.

Not only did they send me the boards to play with, they put in some awesome accessories, like magnets, markers and even special dry erase wipees. I love it all. LOVE.

I laid it all out on the floor to get the general design that we wanted.
{Do you have one foot tiles in your home? They make a great surface to measure stuff out on...you'll easily know how much space is there}
We made a vintage-inspired tool holder with that board you see laying there on the bottom left...more on that in a bit.

They even come equipped with the mounting hardware.
Those Board Dudes thought of everything

And it was all very simple to hang and position. Even for *someone* who may or may not get a bit grumbly about the art of hanging things. Especially when his wife has symmetry issues and may or may not request revisions. Thrice.

Didn't it come out super fun, though?
I think it goes well with the oops blue "hooker" board we installed.
Yes. Hooker Board.

I divided the areas of the command center up into "life areas"...you know, sort of-ish. The one on the top left is "shopping life". I can put coupons, receipts and write a list of things we need on there. That list is now extending dangerously close to the margin area of that board...I haven't been to the store in way too long {it may be a two buggy-haul by the time I do darken the automatic doors of the H-E-B}.

The middle section is just for fun. We can pin photos and ticket stubs and good times to the cork board. And don't get me started on how stinkin' fun those little word magnets that Board Dudes sent are. Hours of hilarious {and oh-so-thought-provoking} humor right there. On the right, I use those two boards for schedules and {obviously} our calendar.

We can stick invitations and even use dry erase markers on the stainless board,
{I think it may be my favorite board just because it's way cool}.
Let's not talk about the fact that I...errr, was a bit off on which day the 6th was. I just hope someone shows up for that poor kid's game.

Oh, there they are! My happy magnets.

And I love the graphic prints the acrylic magnets came in. They are so me.
Board Dudes have some {gorgeous} pattern fun going on.

Here's the vintage-inspired mason jar organizing board that we built to hold all of the other goodies that came with all of our Board Dudes stuff. To see our complete step-by-step tutorial {it took less than an hour to make}, click here.

I love that the markers are totally magnetic, too!
I'll never lose another cap again.

This is working out great for us. Our laundry room is off of the garage, so it's where we {and all of our gear} land when we get home every day. In addition to the cool command center from Board Dudes, I ordered a couple of trays from One Kings Lane for the tops of the dryers to catch mail and paper work. It's all starting to come together.

This is not a sponsored post. Board Dudes {a Rose Art Company} provided me with samples to try out and evaluate at no cost to me. All opinions are 100% mine.

  1. I want some! Of course, I never lose pens/caps/pencils...my KIDS swipe them, never to return them.

I'm going to start working on my organizational extravaganza of awesomeness this weekend. I may or may not be planning to skim-coat 75 square feet of 11-foot tall walls for chalkboard paint.
