Hello, party friends. Hope you've had a wonderful weekend and are ready to face the week head on! It's been a WARM one in Texas...80 degrees in January? WHA? I feel like we haven't really had winter yet...but I know so many of you have had more than your share of it. Here's to a party full of loads of winter-inspiration! Have a great week, y'all.

The adult coloring craze is so fun, y'all. But honestly, at the ages my kids are at, they love these kind of intricate coloring designs, too. When I created these printable bookmarks last week, I couldn't keep my youngest away from them...he had a blast! We think these will be our Valentines this year for our classmates (since I've created a few Valentine's printables this year, we have some choices). These are so unique and fun that they've totally won us over. Download a set of these printable bookmarks for your kids' Valentines below.

Valentine's Breakfast Recipes | From doughnuts to scones ...there is something delicious to make your sweetheart smile on Valentine's morning.
Valentine's is my favorite morning to do a fun breakfast for my family. We do strawberry milk, fruit, and of course a yummy Valentine's breakfast dish. At this week's Inspiration Monday party, there were lots of fun Valentine's Breakfast Recipes linked up. I thought I would put them all together in one convenient spot...along with a couple of my own, as well. Happy Valentine's!

Inspiration Monday

Hey, friends! Hoping last week treated you well. It's been busy around here...I'm turning in my book manuscript this week and I'm so close to being done with the book. Feels so weird to have created almost two year's worth of printables and not be able to share them, yet. This whole process has been so surreal...but I've really enjoyed it. I have some photography for it next month, and then it will all be in the publisher's hands...EEK!

How are YOU? Are you in a winter wonderland...or just sitting in the 50 degree temps like us? Where ever you are, I hope you're doing well...and ready to be inspired!

Free Valentine Word Search Printables
My kids have always loved a good word search. I thought this would be a cute way to give out pencils for Valentines this year. As a mom of elementary kiddos, I can tell you that we're always short on pencils...so I feel like these will be appreciated by kids and their parents. Download your set of free Valentine Word Search Printables below. They've been recently updated with two options.

Queso Blanco

This Queso Blanco dip is a family favorite. I was inspired to make it years ago after a trip to my favorite place to eat...the San Antonio Riverwalk. The Mexican food on the Riverwalk has always been near and dear to my heart. Recreating this Queso Blanco takes me right down to the river (minus the two hour drive!). It's the perfect dip for your game day fesivities.

Queso Blanco Dip | This easy Tex-Mex dip is perfect to serve for any gathering or tailgate party.
My parents and brothers were all born in San Antonio...along with all of my extended family. I'm the lone Austinite of the bunch. But frequent trips to SA, its Riverwalk, and El Mercado areas filled me with a love for Mexican food...especially Queso Blanco. I could bathe in this dip, y'all. It's amazing. My preteen son shares my affection for all things cheesy and Tex-Mex-ish, so this is his fave, too. We're serving it this game day with some convenient snacks from José Olé that make it a winning combination. Hope we can say the same for the team we root for!

Today, I'm sharing a tutorial for how to make a DIY Door Headboard out of bifold doors. I grabbed my sets of old closet doors at a local garage sale a while back, but I see these at thrift stores, salvage yards, flea markets, and on Facebook Marketplace all the time. Check out the tutorial below for this DIY Door Headboard.

I was not going to post this tutorial until I repainted our bedside tables, but it doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon. We're actually about to move and this room is about to be dismantled (and hopefully set up similarly at the new place). But, I do hope you enjoy this easy, budget-friendly DIY Door Headboard tutorial...I plan to use it again in our new home.

Inspiration Monday

Are you getting into the groove of 2016, yet? Finally got all of my Christmas decor packed up last week...the house feels so clean now...but a little sad, too. I've got two weeks until my manuscript is due, so I'm skipping Valentine's decor for now...even sadder, huh? But that's okay, y'all...after that, I'll be all kinds of blissful, right? ;)

I took my mom's (and lots of moms') go-to potluck dish and turned it into Not Your Mama's Broccoli Salad by switching out a few ingredients...but definitely amping up the flavor throughout. It's still perfectly delicious, y'all.

The beauty of being on a nutritious eating plan for over two years means you don't have to start the stereotypical New Year's resolution...you know what I'm talking about. Basically, I usually get a little sloppy on the plan over the holidays and try to tidy it back up in January. This year, I've found myself longing for some comfort foods that I used to enjoy on a regular basis...ones that often date back to my childhood. My goal this year is to try to reinvent some of those timeless classics, only taking a more wholesome approach to them. Today, I'm sharing the salad that made me love salad, (because who doesn't love salad with bacon, right?), but with my own twist: Not Your Mama's Broccoli Salad. Check out this recipe below.

Do you have plans for the big game? Even in a houseful of football lovers, I'm still one of those that gets more excited about the snacks than the actual game. Whether you're hosting a big group or just relaxing at home with the family, this Cowboy Dip is perfection.

Inspiration Monday

Hey, there! I hope you're having a fabulous weekend. We tried our hand at freezer-cooking yesterday...whew! We're tired...but have 22 meals in the freezer ready to go! Hoping this helps me with better meal planning and a lot less eating out. Our hostess, Leigh Anne, is on the same wave length I am...she's picked out some yumminess for meal planning this week, too! Check out her features, as well as the party below.

This weeks features were selected by Leigh Anne at Your Homebased Mom. Enjoy!

Not going to lie, it's January 8th and my Christmas decor is still very much up, y'all. We had an unexpectedly hectic holiday and I'm now just three weeks away from my manuscript's due date. There's a slight chance that tree may be up through February. Mom, it's okay, you don't have to call me every day to ask if I've taken the Christmas stuff down...I'll let you know next month! ;)
Since I'm not ready to decorate for Valentine's in my house, I'm certainly ready to start sharing love-day goodies here on the blog. Grab these (non-candy, yay!) free printable crazy straw Valentines below.

I've been super excited to show you my new cottage-style antique plate wall display in our master bedroom. I've spent years collecting the plates for this display. I'm really happy with how it turned out...with space for even more pretty plates, should I stumble onto some (which, I will...wink). Check out this Antique Plate Wall Display below, including a video with helpful hanging tips, too (they're hung up wirelessly!).

Plate Wall Display
I literally hammered the last nail into the wall for this one the night before I hosted Thanksgiving for 20+. To say I'm decorationally-motivated by people seeing my house in person is an understatement. I used some super cool tools to hang this with, too (read: no stretchy wire plate hangers that show their "fingers" from the front). Check out this Antique Plate Wall Display below.
