Free Printable Cleaning Cards

This post for Cleaning Cards contains affiliate links. I make a small portion when these links are used, at no additional cost to you.

These new free printable cleaning cards are designed to keep you on track when deep cleaning...no matter what room you're in. They're helpful for not forgetting a task (like cleaning a space top to bottom, then remembering you forgot the ceiling fan...been there!). Plus, they're easy to attach to a cleaning caddy so they're always handy. Download yours below.

Cleaning Cards
Since I only do a deeper clean once or twice a year, it's easy to forget a task or two in the process. While regular weekly cleaning is routine, things like flipping mattresses and changing air filters can easily be forgotten since they aren't done as often. So, these cleaning cards are my new buddies. I created them for a couple of other reasons, too, that I'll share below. There are blank cards available, as well, so you can create your own routine.

I created these cards for a couple of reasons. The first, as I mentioned above, is that deep cleaning isn't always the norm and things can get forgotten. These cards are here to help with that. The second? Not everyone was taught to clean in the same manner, and in some ways we can all learn from one another (I welcome additional suggestions in the comments). These cards were created from my personal method of cleaning, which I learned from my mom (who, incidentally, kept a pretty meticulous home...even my husband remarked on her cleaning skills many a time!).

My mom was a "top to bottom" cleaner and that's mostly what I stuck to on these cards (since that's the way I learned). The idea is to start at the top of the room (usually a light fixture or ceiling fan) and work your way down to the floors (which are always last). The dust that falls from surfaces while cleaning will end up on that floor to be cleaned in the last stage of the deep clean.

Cleaning Checklists
And since I know we don't all have the exact same rooms in our homes (if you have a library in your house, I'm a little jealous), I created blank versions of the cards, too (pictured above). Simply write your room and tasks in the blanks provided. I kept the same blue check boxes with each line so each chore can be checked off once completed.

How to Use Cleaning Cards
  • These cards are for personal use. If you do own a small shop or business and would like to carry the printed versions of the cards (no digital redistribution is ever allowed), please purchase a commercial license here.
  • The download links are available below for each option available.
    • You can download the pack of eight cards in one bundle through the direct links, or get the single sheets through the Dropbox and Google Drive links.
    • The blank cards are available on one sheet on their own, on all downloading platforms.
  • These 3x5" cards print four to a page (both the eight ready-to-go cleaning cards and the blank ones).
  • They are all PDF formatted designs that should be printed on white, letter-sized cardstock for durability. Grab a pack of white, letter-sized cardstock here on Amazon.
  • After printing, you can cut your cards out with scissors or a paper cutter (I love the above pictured Fiskars Paper Trimmer and use it all the time. Grab it here on Amazon.). I provided a small black hairline around the outside of each card for easier cutting.
  • If you prefer to make your cards reusable, try laminating in these self-laminating pouches from Amazon. Then use them with fine-tip dry-erase markers. Erase with a paper towel to use the card again.
  • Hole punch your cards and attach together (and to a cleaning caddy) using a binder ring clip.

Room-by-Room Cleaning Instructions
I think a set of these cards tucked into a cute cleaning caddy with some scrub brushes and cleaners would make a darling housewarming, wedding, or college graduation gift...for anyone about to move into a new place!
