Teaching Matters Every Day Free Printable

This free printable is perfect for a teacher's gift from the kiddo. This year, the official Teacher Appreciation Week is May 2nd-6th. Let's honor those teachers for all they do!

This free printable is perfect for a teacher's gift from the kiddo. This year, the official Teacher Appreciation Week is May 2nd-6th.
The best thing about being a teacher is that it matters...the hardest thing about being a teacher is that it matters every day. This quote is from teacher, author, motivational speaker, and professor, Dr.Todd Whitaker. My husband is actually friends with Dr. Whitaker...through the wonderful world of secondary education. He has brought him in to speak on his campus and really admires his work. This is one of my favorite quotes of Dr. Whitaker that is circulating out there in the world. Download this below (available in two color options).

Farmhouse Sink and DIY Kitchen Art

A big thank you to ATG Stores for bringing us today's post.

They're the perfect additions to our home makeover.

Farmhouse Sink Tips and DIY Kitchen Art Tutorial | Check out the before and after of this 1980s kitchen update!
From the moment I started looking at this house we now live in on its MLS listing, I started thinking about the kitchen. It was dated...but not unmanageable. When I envision these kinds of things, I only let my brain wander as far as my ability to achieve a certain look on my own. I'm all for hiring out when needed (which we did in several instances in here), but for the most part, I've always been a DIYer. One thing we decided on fairly quickly was an apron-front sink (which is often called a farmhouse sink). Check out our new sink and the homemade artwork I made for it below (and some fun before pics!).

Inspiration Monday

Happy Easter, y'all! Hope you're enjoying this weekend. It's been fun around our house...we made resurrection rolls, dyed eggs and are off to grandma's today. Blessings to you and yours on this special day.

This is completely unrelated to this actual post, but this is the first "staged" photo I've taken in the new house...in the sunroom. I worried that the sunroom may not work out for photos, but I'm actually super happy with how clean and bright these came out. Yay for getting back to normal!

Okay...back to what this is really about! ;) Like I said, I love to do several inexpensive gifts throughout Teacher Appreciation Week...and this one would be perfect. I know how hard our teachers work all year...treating them to a fun week of goodies is just one way we can show them some lovin'. This printable tag is available in four color options below.

New Pet Essentials Checklist

Today's post is sponsored by Bounty. I'm a member of the #QuickerPickerUpper team, but all opinions are mine alone. #NationalPuppyDay

Welcoming a new pet into your home sometime soon?
This new puppy essentials checklist is perfect to get you organized and ready to welcome your new furry friend.

While our Chloe-girl is, indeed, not a new puppy...we've definitely been down that road of bringing four little paws into our home for the first time. Sometimes we get so excited about welcoming a new "little one" that we forget to prepare. I remember when I was in college and my roommate and I both got Golden Retriever puppies...we were so excited to get them home that we didn't get a thing for them. We had to make an emergency run to the store to grab whatever we could think of (my sweet Golden passed away a couple of years ago...but she's the one who taught me how to be a pet owner!). I thought the below Puppy Essentials Checklist would be perfect for all of you thinking of getting a new pet for your own home.

Easy Cabinet Hardware Installation Trick

A big thank you to ATG Stores for bringing us today's post.
ATG Stores have provided hardware and more for our makeover.
All opinions are my own.

This easy cabinet hardware installation trick is invaluable when you're adding pretty new knobs to your kitchen. It makes the job easy and flawless, too. All you need is an empty food box and a pencil.

The new house is starting to feel like home, y'all. The room that has gotten the biggest makeover so far is the kitchen (I knew if I didn't get it done before we moved in, I might not ever get to it). We've been living in the new place for a couple weeks now, and we are really happy with the new kitchen space. Today, I'm sharing the niftiest trick to installing kitchen cabinet hardware. It simplifies it big time. Check it out below (AND, I'm telling you all about our vintage hardware, too!).

Happy Sunday/Monday, y'all! We're just wrapping up a busy spring break. My in-laws were here for a few days and we had a great time...from the Magnolia Market in Waco to my MIL helping me set up my sewing machine for drapes! We jam-packed the week with fun.

Free Blue Skies Spring Printable

This free Blue Skies spring printable is perfect as it officially turns into spring next week.
This is one of my favorite songs ever...I really prefer the Willie Nelson version, myself.
Such a great song and sentiment for the warmer months ahead...nothing but blue skies.

Never saw the sun shinin' so bright.
Never saw things goin' so right

Noticing the days hurrying by
When you're in love, my how they fly...

I seriously love this song, y'all. And of course...crooned by Willie is the best.

This homemade residue remover is an all-natural, two-ingredient solution to removing sticky residue from hard surfaces. Label gunk is no longer a problem. This stuff really works. Say goodbye to sticker residue and harsh chemicals.

Homemade Residue Remover
So here in our new house, we have the craziest thing on the front windows. While there are no window treatments of blinds on these windows, there is a ton of residue from what we assume was packing tape? It's kind of a mystery to us, still. See below how I removed the gunk (and funk) quickly and with only a two-ingredient homemade residue remover.

Hey, hey, hey!! It's spring break for us here in central Texas. We've got plans of unpacking the house (it's never ending, y'all), a visit from grandparents, and a trip down the road to Waco to visit Magnolia Market. Super excited for a bit of a break. Hope you're having a great week wherever you are!! Can't wait to see what you've been up to.

This is one of my favorite hymns we sing during the Easter season. I thought I'd make it into a Free Printable Watercolor Easter Card and 8x10 Print. I truly thought about adding in the ah-ah-ah-ah-ah before the Alleluia...because that's one of my favorite parts.

Free Printable Watercolor Easter Print: Available in a Greeting Card or 8x10 Printable
My brother, Dale, always sends us an Easter card every year (or gives it to us in person if we have dinner together that day). He's always very thoughtful with cards. Naturally, I spend so much time on the sillier things (making sure everyone's Easter outfit is just right, making deviled eggs and ham, and putting the finishing touches on baskets) that I feel like such a heel when he hands me my card (and I don't reciprocate, blargh). Every. Year. So, I'm slightly thinking ahead this year. I created this card with him in mind...I know he'll appreciate it and treasure the meaning this time of the year. And hey, I still have time for the eggs, no?

Easy Easter Crafts

I have a great round up of Easy Easter Crafts for you today.
These are all from this week's Inspiration Monday party. Bunnies and eggs everywhere, y'all!

Loads of Easy Easter Crafts from Your Favorite Bloggers
So, so sad that I'm not decorating for Easter this year. We moved into the new house three days ago...and are now in a mad dash to plant flowers, touch up paint, and get our other place on the market asap (two mortgages are no joke, y'all...GAH). So Easter decorating is definitely on the backest burner there is. We're still a complete mess. But, I'm living vicariously through all of my bloggy friends that linked up their Easter awesome at this week's party. Check them all out below.

Welcome back to the party! It is MOVING WEEKEND here in Texas. We're working hard to get into the new place, y'all. It's coming together...YAY! When done, you're all invited over for supper. ;)

I think chocolate bunnies are my favorite part of an Easter basket...I go for the ears first (obviously). They're just such an iconic, must-have treat this time of the year (dare I say...I'd prefer them over Peeps?). Today, I'm sharing a calorie-free printable version. Because, I'm here to help, y'all. Chocolate Milk Bread

This Chocolate Milk Bread recipe is absolutely to die for!
My family devoured it in one sitting. Be sure to make a loaf or two and enjoy with a tall glass of chocolate milk with it, of course! ;)

Chocolate Milk Bread made with real chocolate milk and dark chocolate chips.
My kids love being in the kitchen with me...my youngest helped me with the recipe. I'll be honest, though, it was more of a taste-testing job on his part (he loves to take one for the team, y'all...ha)! This bread is a cross between a cake, a loaf bread, and a delicious chocolate chip cookie. The large amount of dark chocolate chips in the recipe create pockets of creamy chocolate throughout the entire bread. You have GOT to try this one...it freezes well, too (perfect to have on hand when company comes).
