Do you have plans for the big game? Even in a houseful of football lovers, I'm still one of those that gets more excited about the snacks than the actual game. Whether you're hosting a big group or just relaxing at home with the family, this Cowboy Dip is perfection.

I've had this recipe for years...my mom and I both started making it in the nineties. We discovered it at one of those home cooking party things. She likes to add chopped pimento to hers...but I leave it as is. It gets its heartiness and heat from a few spoonfuls of horseradish added to it...perfect for cowboys and cowgirls.

I really love horseradish. I probably use it more than most people do. I cut mayo with it to save a few calories on a burger or sandwich. And it's absolute heaven in this dip. I'm normally not a spicy-person...but to me, horseradish is just in a league of its own.

Since I enjoy being busy in the kitchen during game day (and usually fly solo since the other peeps in the house really enjoy the actual game-watching part of the game), I do a few things ahead of time to make it easier (you know...so I don't miss the commercials, at least). I chop all of my veggies the day before.

I have a trick to keep them super fresh, too.
I place a folded Bounty Paper Towel into a zip top bag with my cut vegetables.

I try to keep the paper towel on the bottom of the bag and keep it lying flat in the refrigerator. That way any excess moisture gets wicked into the paper towel. This is really fabulous to pull the excess moisture out of cucumbers after they're cut.

The veggies are perfectly crisp and fresh...ready for game day noshing. Soggy veggies are worse than your favorite team losing, right?  Focus on the game, not the fumbles with longer lasting Bounty at your side.

Besides party prep, Bounty is also there for all of your big spills and messes during the fun. 2x More Absorbent Bounty has been there for 50 years to clean up all the big game party messes. Place a roll on every table or spot your party peeps will be.

  3. I also happen to love horseradish-not too many people can actually eat a stick of it fresh--but I can. However i usually have a jar of it in the refrigerator. This dip does sound good and really simple to make. I always have a roll or two of Bounty in my apartment--I am a Klutz--need I say more?
