DIY Firepit Patio

We're done with phase one of our DIY Firepit Patio Area. We're already loving it, y'all! Check out how we created this low-maintenance area, as well as see our phase two plans below.

DIY Firepit Patio: Step-by-step photos and instructions to create your own backyard firepit area.
True story...the bulk of our DIY Firepit Patio was actually finished last summer. But posting about fixing up your yard in September or October just seemed a bit off to me. We had a colder than usual winter, though. So, this is truly the first time we're regularly getting to enjoy this area. We also have some fun plans for phase two...they include party lights and pretty plants and flowers in this area. And by golly, I will get to enjoy those this summer!

Homemade Cereal and Nut Bars

These Homemade Cereal and Nut Bars are the key to my summer mornings. Check out this delicious recipe and how I take a little time for myself during those lazy, hazy, crazy days.

Homemade Cereal and Nut Bars: no-bake cereal and nut bars are an easy way to start the day!
We're approaching the home stretch, y'all. A few more tests, field day, hugs for friends, and then we're out of school for the summer. While I absolutely love having my kids home with me during these few months, it's also a bit of a challenge as a work-at-home mom. My kids are not and have never been sleep-in-kids. They did not get this from me...goodness, I can't wrap my brain around it. They hit the ground running at seven and go all day. Having a breakfast all ready to go for them ensures I can still get a few minutes of my own time before the day gets going. That's where these no-bake Homemade Cereal and Nut Bars come in. They're perfection.

Lemon Tarts

These easy-to-make Lemon Tarts would be perfection at a spring brunch.
Easy Lemon Tart recipe that starts from frozen bread dough.
I'm over at the Rhodes Bake-N-Serv Blog posting this recipe today.

Free Mind Your Own Biscuits and Life will be Gravy Printable

This post for a Free Mind Your Own Biscuits and Life will be Gravy Printable contains affiliate links. I make a small portion when these links are used, at no additional cost to you.

This Free Mind Your Own Biscuits and Life will be Gravy Printable is inspired by that fantastic (and catchy!) Kacey Musgraves song. Mend your own fences and own your own crazy. Mind your own biscuits and life will be gravy. Mmmmhmmm. I have this printable available in three sizes and two color options below.

Free Mind Your Own Biscuits Printable

I think this song is just plain fun. And, well, full of some real talk, too. I loved Kacey Musgraves' 'Silver Lining' and I also can't get enough of her 'House' song either. She's kind of incredible with her lyrics, y'all. So when I first heard, 'Biscuits', its main line became a household motto...because sometimes an eight and ten year old tend to get into each others' biscuits a little too much around here. DIY Vintage Art Gallery Wall

This DIY Vintage Art Gallery Wall is something I've been collecting "pretties" for for well over a year. It finally came together over the weekend after a morning of junkin' and funkin'. I'm really in love with this sweet little space.
DIY Vintage Art Gallery Wall | Collect pieces from thrift stores and flea markets for a fun, budget-friendly display.
I think I've mentioned this before, but I like to be surrounded with stuff I love to look at: old, new...whatevs. If it brings me warm fuzzies and smiles {and costs me next to nothing}, it's comin' in the house. This little wall has some fun little stories with it. And most of the items hanging here were about a dollar {some a bit more...some free}.

Hey, hey, hey! Happy-end-of-the-weekend-start-of-the-week. Hope you're doing well. It's definitely SPRING in Texas. I spent a lovely few days junkin', decorating and enjoy the loveliness of this time of the year. Hoping this season is treating you well, too!

Pesto Pinwheels

These Pesto Pinwheels are the perfect addition to your next party!

Pesto Pinwheels | Made with pesto, cream cheese, Oregano oil, and more. | Easy and delicious!
In the past, I've always made pinwheels (or "tortilla roll-ups" as my husband calls them) with a spicy Mexican twist. But, a few weeks ago, I hosted an essential oils class at my home and wanted to create a pinwheel that I could use my Oregano oil in {cooking with essential oils...another fun way to use them!}. I had a jar of pesto in the pantry, so it was kind of a "bada bing, bada boom" situation. I think I love these even more than my old pinwheels, y'all. They were addictive.

DIY Gamer Canvas Art

This DIY Gamer Canvas Art was a fun project my son and I made together.
It's a part of today's theme for #BoyMomMadness: DIY!
DIY Gamer Canvas Art

DIY Gamer Canvas Art
As I've been talky-talkin' about, we're knee deep in a room redo for my big boy. He's (sadly) outgrown his cute little cowpoke-themed room and is D-O-N-E-DONE with anything bandana printed or denim. His vision for the room was to haul in a bunch of vintage...ahem, retro video game machines and throw down a sleeping bag in the middle of the madness. I have a slightly different plan. But I thought I'd put the usual vintage spin on the room and just have small gaming touches here and there. This is one of our first projects. Check out how easy it was below.
