Setting up an Iced Coffee Bar

An Iced Coffee Bar is the perfect refreshment station
for summer parties of all kinds. Just add ice.
#IDelight
Iced coffee is one of my favorite summer time treats. I love the idea of having an entire space devoted to the drink at summer weddings and parties. They're fairly simple to set up...with lots of enjoyment from guests. It's a fantastic way to beat the heat. See lots of fun coffee bar tips and ideas {and a free printable} below>>>

Four DIY Projects Styled on One Table {from Brett}

Hey y'all! It's Brett from Being-Bianca.com and I'm pleased as punch to be back again this month with a home decor share that is big on style but easy on your wallet. Just like any good, sweet tea drinking southern belle; if something stands still around me long enough there's a strong chance it will be painted gold or monogrammed. This is the reality Dear Hubs, Lil B and my diva dog live with daily. Lucky for them, I found this table before I got to them!

How to Give Mom the Gift of Clean

Today's post is brought to you by Scotch-Brite. Even though I'm being compensated, I have to say that I really do love all of these fantastic products sent my way. Fantastic stuff!

While Mother's Day is now behind us, my family has continued their new love of cleanliness. And now, I'm not the only one getting the house that way.
#GiftofClean
If you remember, we had The Great Dish Stand Off of 2014 happening in the not so distant past in my house. I'm happy to report that the below dishes are no longer sitting on the counter.

My guys have more than redeemed themselves.
They've become the Kings of Clean:
I can't tell you how much it makes a mama's heart happy to have her home cleaned...not only on Mother's Day but other busy days for her as well. My boys know how to treat me right. Check out their handy-work below, featuring some of our favorite Scotch-Brite products.

We've also loved incorporating some of these awesome 3M Scotch-Brite products into daily cleaning routines. My husband can't quit talking about that toilet wand {I wasn't even sure he knew how to use a toilet wand until we shot that above video}. It is pretty cool...it had him at the disposable head.

Here's a few of our favorite products that we were able to try out:

All in all...this mama is loving the gift of clean.

How does your family help you around the house?

Going to blog conferences always stirs a lot of goals/dreams/plan emotions in me. It was chocked full of inspirational quotes for anyone pursuing a dream. I just knew I could make a few fun printables to keep the blissful post-conference feeling alive and well. Outdoor Garbage Can Storage

We created a simple Garbage Can Storage Area in our side yard, because trash cans aren't pretty. It's been such a welcome addition...even our neighbors are commenting on how nice it looks. It's a simple, but a very effective idea to keep our unsightly garbage can hidden from the street.

outdoor garbage can storage

Our city-issued eye-sore of a dumpster is now hidden. Amen and hallelujah. I so wish I could have a cutesy painted metal garbage can on my curb, but we get to use these beauties above. They are more practical and functional with their fancy wheels and super truck that picks them up. But...the pretty factor just isn't there.

And I'm proud to say, this mini deck we built for our garbage can went together in one morning's time (this does not include the drying time for the stain and weather sealer we applied). Overall, this project is very simple, straight-forward construction. See how to put together your own hideaway for your trash bins below.

Washi Tape Covered Hangers

These Washi Tape Covered Hangers would be a super cute and easy graduation gift, or even a wedding gift for the happy couple! They're simple to make but add a whole lot of fun to a closet!

In all of the gifts I received before heading off to college {umpteen years ago}, one of my favorites was a set of fancy clothing hangers from my cousin. I had used the same pink plastic hangers since I was about eight years old. So my new pretty, floral padded hangers seemed ridiculously luxurious. I felt like all that and a bag of chips loading my awesome new hangers into my dorm room closet that August. And to this day, I still have those pretty hangers in my closet!

When I recently saw some painted wooden hangers on Pinterest, I thought they'd be another fun hanger graduation gift. And then the wheels turned a bit further and I thought washi tape would be even easier than paint! Check out this simple tutorial below>>>

The Year of the Yard: Side Yard Progress

We're continuing with the progress we've made in our little side yard yard. We've had to make a big plan change, but I'm actually really excited about where we're headed.

As I mentioned in the first post of this series, we're embarking on several outdoor projects this summer. Our first one is in full swing and is occurring in the side yard of our home. Check out our original plans here. We're using a lot of great Spectracide products in our revamping yard. They give us more bang for the buck! Check out the progress below>>>

Cream Cheese Kolaches

Today, I'm over at the Rhodes Bake-N-Serv Blog
sharing an old family recipe that is dear to my heart,
Cream Cheese Kolaches.

These Czechoslovakian Cream Cheese Kolaches {with Posipka topping} have the most delicious, yeasty flavor of my childhood in them! And I found the handwritten recipe in an antique recipe box that came from my late uncle, a professional baker in San Antonio, Texas way back in the 1930's until the 1970's.

Click here to check them out.

I'd LOVE the Gift of Clean for Mother's Day

Thanks so much to Scotch-Brite for sponsoring today's #GiftofClean discussion.

Skip the flowers and chocolates. I kid you not, all I want for Mother's Day is the Gift of Clean. A sparkly house is at the tippy top of my list. And apparently, on the tops of lots of moms' lists. 3M Scotch-Brite is here to help.

According to a recent survey[1], 75% of moms would prefer a clean home on Mother’s Day to being served breakfast in bed. In addition, 60% of moms would most prefer a clean house over other gift options like candy, flowers or a card.

That sounds ridiculously spot on to me. Currently in the area of cleaning in my house, we're having the Great Dish Stand Off of 2014. And, by hook or by crook, I will not be the one to put those suckers away. Allow me to indulge a bit...

DIY Appreciation Bouquet

My sweet friend and contributor, Rita, is here today! I was blessed to get to meet and spend some time with Rita last month in Salt Lake City! She is an absolute GEM! She has a super cute {as always} project for us today: A DIY Appreciation Bouquet!

Hi again, it is Rita from Pink Polka Dot Creations.
I have been busy getting a new face lift, (well my site has, not me) and I would love if you have a minute and could come on over and tell me what you think!
Today I have a great project just in time for Mothers Day, but this is a fun one that could be for several different occasions such as Birthdays, Teacher Appreciation, Graduation, Baby or Wedding Showers, Just Because, or just for a cute Thank You gift! It is a cute spin on an old project!

Rosemary Lemon Cake Mix Cookies

These simple, summery Rosemary Lemon Cake Mix Cookies
are easy to put together, but taste amazing!

So, I definitely didn't invent the cake mix cookie. Some other genius was behind that. I have, however, been making, eating, and beating myself up with guilt over them for over 12 years now {it's been a long relationship}.

Back in the day, I was a Southern Living at Home consultant. In my hostess kits, I would tuck a box of cake mix with the fail-proof recipe for cake mix cookies on them. They were perfect for a par-tay {and were featured in one of our cookbooks}. Check out this delicious variation on them below>>>

Super Simple Framing Project

The amazingly talented Brett from Being Bianca is
here today with a great DIY tutorial!
////////

Hey y'all!  So thrilled to join you again this month!  Now, the real question ... where has this month gone??? A few weeks back, I shared an easy, rustic framing project that I completed to show off my antique egg prints over here.  Today, I'm back again with another so simply "framing"project that can take any poster from boring normal to fab in just a few minutes (and on a budget to boot!).
