Top Ten from Being Bianca

Well, hey there, y'all! Remember me? I'm Brett from Being-Bianca and I joined you back in December to share a festive, elf inspired ornament from our oh so elf filled Christmas decor. Ring a bell?

 elf ornament cover

As my (I'm totally buying a lottery ticket with this kind of) luck would have it, Kristi invited me back to be a regular contributor on ISBMTF. ***Squeal with delight!*** I"m just over the moon to be joining you back every month with fun home decor projects, tips and tricks!

It's hard to believe 2013 came and went so quickly, and we are already about 1/12 complete with 2014 to boot, but I thought it's only fitting to start my first post as a contributor with a round up of some of the Being-Bianca highlights from 2013. Now, I started this little ole adventure in blogging in September 2013, so it's fun to look back at these highlights to see where we have been (and where we are going!). The top ten are a bit skewed towards festive fall projects (because that's when we started), but humor me and know that most of these can be adopted to other "springier" events or just save the ideas away because fall will be here again before you know it (gasp!). And with that, on with top ten….

Spots two through ten are filled by some fun decorating and crafting projects.
 {{{from top left}}}

And the number one spot for 2013 was held by our festive fall home decor tour:

And with that, I'll see you again in just a few weeks with some February fun!

Bianca is that overzealous, type A, go getter, Martha wanna be, over-achieving, style conscious, serial decorator, enthusiastic hostess, semi-crafty gal in all of us that’s just itching to get out.  Share in the mis-adventures, musings and fun as she explores little every day ways to be bianca over at her blog.

Valentine's Decor Home Tour

I just love Valentine's decor
I love the colors, the sentiment, and just adding a little love here and there.

There are some holidays that I flat out don't decorate for. But Valentine's just tugs at my heart...no pun intended. Of course, I swoon over red and aqua on a daily basis, so this just gives me an excuse to pull a bit more out.

Love Never Fails Free Chalkboard Printable

This Love Never Fails  Free Chalkboard Printable
is made up of the lyrics to one of our favorite songs.

The song One Thing Remains from Jesus Culture is quite popular around my house...especially with my six year old. I wanted to have the main message of the song displayed somewhere in our home, to remind us of His love. I created an actual chalkboard with the main lyrics on it on my kitchen (on our Chalkboard Backpack Station). I've created a printable below for those of you who prefer the less-messy method.

Tex-Mex Grilled Cheese

This post is brought to you by Wilton Armetale. I have been compensated in product.

Here's a twist on a classic sandwich:
Tex-Mex Grilled Cheese. It's a mouthful of YUM, y'all.

This version of grilled cheese happened a bit by accident. I went to make my boys quesadillas a few weeks ago and was out of tortillas {gasp!}. I grabbed bread and a new tradition was born. We've made these several times now and LOVE them!

Black, White & Gold Valentine's Mantel

The simple Valentine's decor on our mantel was done on a shoestring budget and with just three simple colors.

I've been excited to show you guys the new decor up on the mantel! I totally went a different direction than my usual red and aqua...but I'm really liking it! I tried to combine graphic black and white patterns with touches of some glammy gold here and there.

Here's how I did it for next to nothing>>>

Glittery and Graphic Heart Garland

This glittery and graphic heart garland is a simple,
yet glam way to bring some love into your Valentine's decor.

Using Petroleum Jelly to Age Wood

Here is another simple method for distressing wood pieces.
It uses Petroleum Jelly as a paint-repellant. Very fun to try.

This finish was not my first choice for our barn door {see the tutorial on how we assembled and installed the barn door here}. However, I'm really happy with how it all worked out in the end! Below is the process>>>

Creating a Simple Coffee Bar

Want to create a simple coffee bar in your home?
With a few simple elements, this inviting space will feel like a coffee house!

This little project started with me & David's Christmas gifts to one another. Ironically, we both shopped at Starbucks...we truly didn't plan this one. He bought me those PRESH red and white chevron mugs {with spoons in their handles} and I got him the Verismo machine so he can enjoy espresso at home. To be clear, *someone* wants me to make sure you all know our gift giving was very proportionate. He also gave me a fabo dutch oven {in red, of course}!

Snowflake Rolls

Here's a super fun treat for a winter day meal:
Snowflake Rolls made with Rhodes Bake N Serv Rolls.

Today, I'm blogging about this fun recipe both here and over at the Rhodes Bake-n-Serv Blog. Stop by and see all the fun they have going on over there, too...it smells delicious and yeasty-good over at their place.

Are these not the most precious dinner rolls you've ever laid eyes on {or lips around}? And they have that yummy yeasty flavor we all need in a good dinner roll. These would be super fun at a lunch stuffed with chicken salad...or alongside a hearty winter soup. There's lots of possibilities for these cuties. Check out the simple recipe below:

Food has become one of my favorite things to blog about.

I've always enjoyed cooking for my family. But after taking a few short photography classes, I decided I've fallen in love with food photography as well. And that has had me in the kitchen a lot more...in a good way! While I'm certainly not a professional, it's just too fun for words. And of course the result can be yummy!
Here's the top ten picks from the past year>>>
