Faux Deer Trophy Decor

Are you as into Faux Deer Trophy Decor as I am?
I'm proud to say I now have three of these new friends in my breakfast area.

I originally thought about titling this post "Ohhhhh, Deer" or "The Bucks Stopped Here"...but I refrained and kept my humor contained. I will say these new little friends sure do bring a big smile to my face, though!

THIS POST IS JUST GETTING STARTED!

Since the kitchen redo this summer, I've been searching for just the right thing to put over the large window in my breakfast area. I thought about another hand-lettered sign...however, I have a lot of those. Like, really. I'm starting to think people feel like all they do is read signs when they stop by our place. So I went an entire different route instead. This little trio of cuties is certainly even better than I imagined they'd be in this spot.

I was invited by Uncommon Goods to pick out some fun items to review from their online store. {Please note, this is not a sponsored post. I was compensated in product only, in exchange for my opinions on what I chose.} They really have quite the selection of cool stuff...I spent wayyyy too long browsing their site. Check out all of their Home Decor here

I settled on a Buck Jr. As well as Buck the Third and Buck the Fourth, respectively.
You can see even more of Uncommon Goods' awesomeness here

They were very easy to assemble. There's a web address on the instructions to watch a video if you need to, but I skipped it. The simple pictorial instructions included were enough to finish each Buck in less than ten minutes.

They're made of a sturdy, yet thin, cardboard. They're laser cut and go together so easily.

My six-year-old built the above one. That's how easy it was.

Once the Bucks were assembled, I did something a bit different and gave them each a coat of spray paint. They took paint beautifully and were dry in an hour and ready to hang. They would look great without paint, too. I'm just completely addicted to painting anything standing still.

The mounting plates in the back have spots for nails. And they're so lightweight that I didn't even have to use anchors in the wall.

Here's how they look in the back of the kitchen, in the breakfast area.

  6. I absolutely LOVE your bucks and where you put them! I am having the same problem . . . trying to find something to put over the sliding doors in our dining room. I already have a buck similar to yours that I got at the Farm Chicks Show (Salty Bison Shop). Our buck is in our living room though so I think three more might be overkill! I may have to check out Uncommon Goods.
